Nice work. But I knew your son was going to get his fingers pinched as soon as you told him to do the pushing. I'm glad that he didn't get hurt bad. I can tell that it was good experience for him, and that he recognized and understood the concept that you was sharing with him. Very nice work Mr. Dad!😊

Did a nice job with the string and bag trick, however the NM cable in the conduit underground is a double no-go. Will it work forever, most likely, but it's not correctly installed. Also next time pulling off a bag of wire, reel it all out first instead of those coils coming right out of the bag.

ROMEX NEVER in conduit..

Use a piece of Walmart bag like a balloon. It's soft so it deforms easily to go around corners and has no edges to get caught on joints. You want the "balloon" to be about the size of the conduit, maybe a little bigger. Like the vacuum tubes at the bank, you want to seal it kinda. Too small and you won't get enough drag from the air passing by. Too big and the drag on the conduit may stop the balloon. The sandwich bag is relying on drag from air moving past it to move it which might be beaten by static in the conduit or any water in there. Plus a sharp edge on the bag will stop the movement completely. The length and stiffness may also cause problems with smaller diameter conduit bends.

Romex in a conduit?

I felt it was a good idea going through the pasture so the wire never gets hit. And if I ever wanted to run some else out there I wouldn’t have to re dig the trench.

Thhn wire would have been the correct wire to use. The wire you used is not rated for outdoor use nor is it rated to be pulled in conduit that far....

Your conduit is too small. Go with at least one-inch diameter for that gauge cable.

Great, not up to code. This orange cable is romex and is not rated for wet locations which is what it is in underground conduit.

True, the wire in the romex is thhn /thwn wet/dry ....I WOULD NOT PUT ROMEX IN CONDUIT.
