Would you like to be created in a laboratory and be sold as a pet a few weeks later? Even if they were not taking them from the wild, that I doubt that never happens, by allowing people to have them as pets, sooner or later some sort of illegal trade might happen. These are very social creatures, the mother gives them milk till they are 5 - 10 weeks old. Then, after the weening, the father has to help introducing solid food and encouraging the baby to eat it. These marmosets have a family for a long time. They stay with their group till 2 years old if I don't remember wrong. The babies begin growing and eventually they help the mother and the father with the process of teaching and parenting other new babies. So, that means that the group or family is very close and they share the work of helping each other. The father is really important in teaching the babies marmosets. They are fundamental to their survival. Sometimes they even spend 50 % of their time helping the mother and carrying the baby. As you can see these are very social animals and they need their family. Their life will never be the same if they come from some random laboratory and are adopted by a human. If they are taken from the wild, the damage to the baby and the family is even worse. There is a very good video here in KZitem of some people that was trying to save a baby marmoset that was trapped under some rubble. When they managed to take it out, the mom was very close watching and waiting. She right away hugged the baby and smelled it. She was so happy !! :3 She sat there, hugging her baby and she almost looked like a person. She was shaking from the happiness, and looking at the people that gave her the baby back. So, animals have feelings too. I can't deny that the temptation is strong. They are super cute, I know. I just think that there is no need to make them suffer. We can't be their real mommy, even when we would like to be so. We can't do the job as well as their real monkey mom. I know we all would like to have something so cute in our house, I am not denying it :3, the truth is that it is just wrong and bad for those animals.

Mihran Playz right on -so it’s obvious this loser wasn’t able to do that. It takes a selfless human being to be a good animal parent. This kid didn’t have any idea what he was getting himself into! Like most ignorant people who buy animals just for show and then cage them up most of their lives! That’s absolutely disgusting! I think it should be a law that you should have to take classes and pass a test to own an animal of any kind unless it’s a fish 🐠! Maybe he should’ve bought a fish! Hopefully , he doesn’t have any dogs because this shows that he’s not ready to be responsible!

@mihranplayz3430

@@frogspit7030 1. Is the pet distressed? Is it in a worse condition than it would be in the wild? No. Because it will get all the care it needs. A marmoset doesn't need a marmoset family, it just needs a family. Many dog breeds hunted in packs, now they're normal pets. 2. Would their lifestyle be better in the wild. Be honest, if they were in the wild, they would have to search for food, water and they would need to run from predators. They are more vulnerable to injury and disease too. Their life expectancy is also significantly lower in the wild. 3. Would they get more care in the wild? Of course not. A mother monkey probably has multiple children, and they would have to fend for themselves after a while. A domesticated monkey will have all the care they need (provided that the owner isn't a douche) and will have all the love it needs. The monkey doesn't need to worry about starving or dying of thirst, neither does it have to worry about predators. Also its completely valid to compare a pet monkey to a pet dog, within limits. Both root from wild animals, as do all pets. What makes domesticating a dig different from domesticating a monkey?

Well said. This is not some random plastic doll. It is an animal with feelings. This articles show how disturbing can be for primates losing a baby or being separated from their babies: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/09/210914192804.htm www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK217852/ The first article is called: "Primate mothers may carry infants after death as a way of grieving, study finds." (It says something like this: Some primate species may express grief over the death of their infant by carrying the corpse with them, sometimes for months, according to a new UCL-led study -- with implications for our understanding of how non-human animals experience emotion.) The second article is called: "Monkeys' Responses to Separation and Loss". I lived many years of my life with my aunt. She is a biologist, an specialist in physical anthropology, and in Human Infertility and Reproduction. For a long time of her life she studied primates. She could recognize right away the remains of an Australopithecus, a woman, a child, or a man. I used to be amazed at the fact that she was one of those persons that just by seeing bones could know so much information. I used to go visit her at work in the Institute of Brain Research. They had many monkeys that were studied for their behavior. The monkeys used to have big areas of grass and trees where we would visit them. She loved those monkeys. They had several chimpanzees and other types of monkeys in that institute. I remember Julia and Moncho, they were a chimpanzee couple. I used to go and visit Margarita, she was a baby chimpanzee. All of them were sooo intelligent. Julia was trying to study me because I was a little girl. One day she grabbed me by the shoulder and tried to touch my hair too, she thought that maybe I was something strange and interesting. Margarita used to hug my auntie when we visited her. My aunt has photographs with all those animals. She always keeps Margarita's photo under the crystal of her big dresser. I never forget one day when my aunt gave Margarita a banana. Margarita tried it and then she extended the banana to me. I was supposed to share with her :3 . She wanted to offer me the banana. My aunt told me that I should not reject it because it was a special thing she was offering me, like a present. So, I took the piece of banana, pretended to give it a big bite and gave it back to Margarita. She was satisfied that I had tried some of it. And yes, those monkeys had feelings. My aunt used to talk to me about them. Sometimes they were sad, or they could be playing together, other times they could be mad at something. They acted like people.

Like it or not, this little one came from a breeder and it has been generations since one has lived in the wild.

You get him girl And if people are going to insist on keeping them as pets. This cage that is not even fit for a parakeet is most definitely not big enough 😑

@@elliesouza717With that said, do you agree on him? Keeping it in a cage that is meant for a finch That cage is most definitely not acceptable

@@mirandagarrett4231first of all this was years ago, he rehomed her. she was very young here and he ended up upgrading her cage. and this marmoset (and all pet marmosets that are properly cared for) are barely kept in their cage, it’s mainly just for sleeping at night.
