Thank you. Your are the only only one on KZitem that shows us how to remove the motor cover. Geez, you have to pull it out of the chassis. Anyway, thank you!

I bought this compressor new in 2000 and it’s still going strong. I thought it was made in Mexico like many Dewalt products are. Very cool to find out it’s made in Italy. That oil cap is not factory, the original is black plastic threaded dipstick.

I am repairing the exact same model that a friend gave to me. Got it in parts. Found the piston had scored the cylinder wall. Honed the cylinder wall. Ordered new piston, as the old one was no longer usable. Hope it turns out good when I get it all reassembled. Also had the same problem with previous owner did not put oil in the reservoir. We'll see how it goes. Great video. Thanks for the information.

At 29:02 the shipping cap pops off, spraying oil everywhere. The crankcase needs a dipstick, both to seal it and to indicate the proper oil level. It was probably overfilled.

The compressor is rated to draw 15 amps. You could exceed that if shop lights or fan are drawing from the same breaker when it starts up.

Jesus! I hope this guy isn't advertising himself as a mechanic! When he was trying to loosen the big end by turning the fan, that con-rod was slapping on the aluminium crankcase like billy ho!! And then he proceeds to grind the con rod big end with what looked like a scouring pad!! Man, you're removing all the Babbitt metal like that!!
