My take: Save the Aero for the end even if you get it on Lap 1. Always always

This is a great track, one of my favourites. A couple things to take note, is first you should zoom in on your mini map, as it helps see the pack better. Simply double click on the map to change it. There are so many visual queues that game gives you, which you should take note of. Eg your historical power map graph. This will give you an indication of what exactly is left in your tank. Judge your burnt match sticks on the cobble climb, as you can see historically how you are going. For final breaks, you watch the riders board to see when the turn orange, and also any change in character position, or power ups being used let you know when to take on the final sprint. Also knowing how long the power ups help, and optimal timing when to use them help too.

Good video and breakdown. My one suggestion is if you are going to show multiple laps then slow down the "description" lap to 1x speed. If that makes the video too long then leave out one of the other laps and skip to the penultimate lap. Good job!

Thanks Eric. Is that mic facing the opposite direction? Or are you using a different setting.

I was using the omnidirectional setting in this video... but am working on dialing in the voice quality more. Have since switched over to cardioid (and turned the mic around :-)

My take: I think you spent too much time in positions 1-5 in this video. Just like crit racing in real life, early breaks don't stick. Staying in the front takes a lot of energy, so I would say move back save your energy until final laps and then start to defend a position at the front. If you were a bit fresher you may have been able to latch onto that final move over the hill.

Fair comment. I'd say 90% of the time that I'm close to the front in Crit City is because I've "coasted" there - that is, it's on an easy section, like from the hairpin to the lap banner on many laps. So I'm not really pushing hard effort at those times. Sometimes I'm moving up to avoid a burrito behind me as well. For me, it's often tough to sit on the back of groups in Crit City, especially up and over the brick climb, because I know how easy it is for a split to form. I'd rather put in a little extra work and be ahead of the splits than risk being gapped off the back. One little chase to close a gap is a lot harder than poking my nose into a little extra wind here and there, in my book.
