My highly allergic daughter came home in hysterics one day. Since weeping and wailing was a common symptom of a number of her allergies, I started asking her what she'd eaten, if she'd smelled anything unusual, been around dogs, etc. Nothing. Nothing. More nothing. I'm thinking I have no idea what, if anything, to give her for what I was sure was a reaction until, finally, she stopped crying long enough to tell me, "Kelly didn't pick me for her teeeeeeeeeammmmmmmmmmm." Ah. Okay. I got this. No antihistamines. Just hugs.

It's so interesting watching this develop in girls. You know, this absolute dependence on the herd where every perceived or real slight feels to them like their very existence is threatened because surely they are about the be utterly and irrevocably rejected by their peers. Even my daughter has such moments and I still think she might be a bit of an autist like her brother. I'm gonna do my best to toughen her up to the point where it still might not be in her nature to be a lone wolf but where she at least doesn't break down on the mere prospect of it :D.

@@RetiredRhetoricalWarhorse Best thing for our middle daughter was to get her out of public schools. Once she got out of that shark tank she actually became more confident. This reminds me of the time I sat on one of those large old solid wood tables when in class. Thought I could let a little fart slip. Oh no, the act of sitting caused me to have to force it a little and the table amplified it dramatically. The whole class and both classes on either side heard this "little" fart. Nothing like a noisy classroom getting silent and all eyes turn to you after you call their attention with your butt wind. It was loud enough that I overheard people at recess talking about it trying to figure out who did it.

I come from a family of “quiet” farters! Not my husband! 🤦🏼♀️He was a gentleman in every way, until he would beat on his stomach and fart on cue! 😂Evidently, my elderly MIL had the same gift. We were with her on the way to an event in the downtown of our very large city. She decided to walk on ahead of us while we got the stroller out of the car, and our daughter into it. We were about a block behind her when we saw her stop, look around in all directions, and let out a BIG ONE which echoed off the walls of the glass buildings‼️🤣🤣 We were laughing hysterically and had to stop to regain our composure! When we caught up to her, none of us acted as if anything had happened, but we had a tough time suppressing our giggles, so we continued to walk behind her! My husband and his mom are now together in Heaven where no one farts😇😇, but I’m grateful I can still laugh at the memory, and this video!
