The team at Royal Liverpool show volunteer greenkeepers how they rake the bunkers ahead of The Open to ensure they're in championship condition.
Thanks to Course Manager James Bledge, First Assistant Chris Trimble and R&A Rules Manager Conor Finlay for the demonstration.
At The Open each year, a team of BIGGA members from across the UK and further afield supports The R&A with the hosting of the championship by joining each match and raking any bunkers the players find themselves in. It's an unpaid opportunity, but in return they get a money-can't-buy view of the championship and gain a greater appreciation of what it takes to produce a golf course worthy of hosting the world's oldest major.
