I've been playing Ky since launch and I only now just learned that you can stun dipper under Potemkin flick. This literally changes everything.

As someone on the verge of reaching celestial (challenge about twice a day, several 4-2 attempts...) I appreciate your video. I already use majority of the described stuff, but finally I can sort out the parts where I lack - e.g. I don't feel confident in my tk ASE and they are crucial in certain matchups like Pot or Goldlewis. Time to hit the lab.

Quick question, I was labbing the dire eclat safe jump. Does Fdc j.s not hit if the opponent mashes 6p? Not sure my timing is bad. Is it 6p dependent with how low their hurtboxes are?

between kick or punch into dash grab? are you using the dash button instead of pressing forward forward? I think it's fine if you go into a sprint, we just want to get close enough for the grab to hit

the dash cancel does work on 2d you just need to wait a bit to otg if you OTG immediately for one reason or another it's earlier so the 5k whiffs which can be a nice gimmick for throws against some players. that said the 4 way mix is at its strongest on 2d knock downs so that's fine to discuss there and honestly on 2d the world is your oyster so go to town. concise guides are hard so going into detail on interactions is always impossible but some things that are worth mentioning for anyone that wants some additional common concepts to discuss is... in mid range dash 2k/2p can be a great call out for an opponent overshooting or using a larger button as an interrupt. 6h as a call out for 6p and counter poke attempts. any time you have tempo in neutral 6h is exponentially stronger since it loses its main weakness. f.s is your best overshoot move against retreating opponents because of it's high active frames and often confirms into 5h on a back dashing opponent. in offense 5h and 2s are a good hard call out for back dash doing things like 5k 5h or 5k 2s will clip back dashes particularly if the move hit super meaty and is plus. c.s 6k is a stronger option against jumping opponents since it jails most characters jumps and will occasionally hit a fuzzy jump. 6k after RRC leaves a 1 frame gap and frame traps off frrc off stun dipper and dire eclat with some decent offense spread of options as well. The 6k stuff I'm just putting in there because almost every ky hates that move and I just want to bring up some use cases for it.

yeah lots of good tips :) 2d is so wacky so yeah I usually just try the four way midrange definitely hard, especially since im trying to keep things compact. I def underutilize 6h and 6k, underrated moves for sure

@djq9903

there's really obvious ones like you want to keep running at axl and happy chaos but the distance you want to stay at varies a lot with not only the character you face but your opponents habits and strengths. sucks the best advice I can give is to keep playing haha but it's one of those things that is best learned personally. experiment a lot in games, if I have a long session w someone I always try to play a few games where I try to stay in kick/throw distance, a few in slash/ heavy distance, and a few where I keep them at stun dipper sweet spot distance. best of luck! ill see if I can come up with anything for that kind of video, thanks! lmk if u have any specific questions and I can try to help :)

@@djq9903 thank you so much! I did have a specific question, usually I set up 5k into grab to pressure crouch block, but lately i've been getting 2P'd a lot when I run in. I feel like I'm missing part of the RPS, it's driving me nuts. What do I do if I know they're going to mash after I 5k?
@djq9903
Жыл бұрын
@@veno_net there's the blockstring 2:00 that I use on people I know are going to mash. I highly recommend going into training, setting the dummy to throw on block, then practice 5k >2d so that it frame traps in a real match, if you're worried you are missing that 5k pause 2d timing, you can do 5k 6h (no pause) and it is a 4 frame trap, so u can beat 5 frame jabs easily

Can you give some block string tech. Cus I feel like most ppl disrespect my pressure and spam 5p and beat my offense every time.
@djq9903
Жыл бұрын
2:00 has a blockstring with 3 frame traps to really stop button pressers. If you aren't confident in doing kick into 2d to frame trap, you can also do kick into 6h for a manually timed 4 frame trap. It kinda depends where they are mashing, I usually cycle between the frame traps and turn stealing I showed in the video
