1:15 The y-axis doesn't show absorption. On the contrary, it shows transmittance. So it is not the highest absorbance at 2000 wave number as you show there.

Sir at 3:38 the peak is for Acids that contains OH group not for alcohols?

In the infrared (IR) spectrum, the O-H (oxygen-hydrogen) stretching vibrations for alcohols generally appear as a sharp peak around 3100 cm^-1. For acids, particularly carboxylic acids like acetic acid (CH3COOH), the O-H stretching vibration produces a broad peak around 3000-3300 cm^-1. So, for differentiation: - Alcohols: Look for a sharp peak around 3100 cm^-1. - Acids (e.g., carboxylic acids): Look for a broad peak around 3000-3300 cm^-1.
