I prefer going more polar on the flop pushing your overpair advantage. On the topic of structuring correctly, villain shouldn’t have A8s and likely shouldn’t have A4s. Both should fold to a 3bet, but one could argue villain can continue since they’re deep (but only 240bb so I think still a fold pre). So likely has less bluffs to choose from, but also shouldn’t have full combos of sets either (shouldn’t be opening pre at full frequency and likely shouldn’t continue vs a 3bet when OOP in such a tight configuration). Turn XR is way underbluffed in SRP, therefore it’s certainly underbluffed in 3bet pots. Tough but good fold

I wonder if AK takes this line, knowing hero doesn't interact with the board very much (making queens the combination of "more likely" + "top of range" hand). Of course, one thing that makes AK so good is its blocking properties, and you'd be squandering those to some extent if you didn't 4-bet it preflop.

This is how I would look at it (much quicker): I lose to AA,KK,777,555,666, straight, and possibly to a flush. I don't block any of the hands I lose to. I beat 88-jj and AK (I block AQ). I'm against a good player (he didn't 4bet With AA or KK for deception I just did it last night). do I want to risk $4550 to get $11140(40%ROI)? I lose too many more hands than I beat. RETURN IS WAY TOO LOW FOR THE RISK! easy fold.

I'm assuming the caller would play JJ and TT the same way, that's 18 value combos that were bet folding on the turn, we're also bet folding allot of bluffs. It seems to me that we're allowing the turn XR as a bluff to work any time we don't have KK+ or some weird 3-bet that smashes 765x. Something needs adjusting in the way we play the turn here like more pocket pairs in our checkback range. When we bet the turn with this SPR we should be able to go to war with a high percentage of the hands we bet.

I like the small bet on the flop. I don't understand the large bet on the turn. Bart kind of glossed over the sizing of the turn bet to focus on whether or not to call the check-raise. When the hero bets 900 on the turn, what hands is he targeting? Can he get called by enough of these hands? Or will he get called/raised by better hands too frequently compared to how frequently he gets called by worse hands?

For me I would weight tendencies higher as the decisive factor on whether to fold the hand. It comes down to how often the villain is doing this type of thing. Can he bluff in this spot? Can he play aces like this? I feel like the math isn’t going to be as relevant with a spot like this

In a match the stack home game with a big bankroll do you think you can show a +EV in running it once? Because when you run it once it puts more money on the table and stacks get deeper and your edge goes up for example if I lose I will just match their stack and if they lose they buy back in or someone else takes a seat instead of running it 2-3 times and chopping the pot
@chevelle1

No because the board was connected, better to put the raise in on the turn and get value but guy made a great fold. Any heart, 3, 8, 9, 4 would be action killing card imo. Villian should have just 4 bet, probally would have gotten the guys stack with QQ. When you have a value hand like QQ and are betting for value on the turn and get raised from the SB in the staddle hand, screams value to me. Here I'm thinking, if V played AA or KK this way, I'm impressed, and I want to give him all my money. He earned it. However, that small XR on turn after a big c-bet kinda announces thick value much more often than heavy draws. I'm putting him on 55, 66, 77, or 89s -- especially 89h -- in which case I angrily fold after a 2-minute tank. Then I get disappointed that I didn't pay off the AA 😅

I wouldn’t fold and wouldn’t trust Villain has AA. V really going to play AA oop? He can x/r the following: - 88, 99, TT, JJ - 87 - 54 - AKs, AQs - if we give him credit for 55, 66 then he may have 44 here - Could even have 86, 64, and sometimes 97 Meanwhile overpairs is generally the best you’ll have here and QQ is better than JJ/TT/99 (sometimes) that’ll 3 bet. Finally, your small cbet might have induced this bluff. Seems fishy to cbet small flop then larger on turn. If V did have AA then he lost value. If he 4 bets, hero calls. I cant see hero folding on bet of flop and turn given V’s description

A very aggressive player just flatting AA, from the sb no less. I have my doubts too. But it's a horrific board, I'd rather bet the flop bigger and go in call mode from the turn. It might possibly go check check on the turn and 900 on the river, the amount he would have bet himself anyway.

A for profit player is not going to check raise 99,TT, or JJ. He's probably not opening medium and low suited gappers either like 97 and if he does then probably folding preflop to the 3bet. At higher levels, there's more meta and more deception. I agree that if he did have AA, he would have made more 4betting preflop.

Theirs no way he flats KK to such a small 3B oop it’s basically always a 4b hand and then we can weight AA down becuz he obv puts 4bs in pre with that as well at some freq so maybe give him 3-5 combos of all the ops then losing to all sets 567-9cs straights(89s) 4cs two pair 56s is two combos 76s is another two so that’s 4combos there as well so we’re in pretty rough shape against about 22 or some have us stone dead the bluff combos there to counter balance that A4s 4combos A3s 4 combos A8s 3combos A9s 3 combos (maybe put some weight into a hand like 88 or 99 making a goofy raise not sure) KJhh KQhh QJhh 910hh combos tough spot I mainly play tourneys where we just blast flop b80% and when we get this turn we ck back or b25-35% idk I’m a huge whale in cash I’m assuming it’s a good fold but could have been played differently imo.. nice hand rerun Bart
