In this video I share three tips to Rebloom your phalaenopsis orchids. I give Orchid Care Tips to make your flowers last longer after bringing it home. I have several Phalaenopsis Orchids that I’m growing Indoors that has been in Bloom all year.
Most Orchids by SV comes with a plastic wrapper around the Plant and Blooms. This Wrapper protects the phalaenopsis from temperature shocks; going from one climate to the next.
The first thing you want to do once you bring it home ; place it near a bright window. The front of the phalaenopsis leaves should face the sun; most often, the blooms should face the sun as well. Air roots normally grow away from the sun, this is how you know how to position it.
DON'T worry about fertilizer! Don't even water it when it's planted in sphagnum moss; until it is acclimated.
Acclimation is when the plant is adapted to your living conditions.
The plant will only be more stressed with you watering it or fertilizing. Orchids in bloom doesn't require much fertilizer.
DON'T repot your new Phalaenopsis, unless you see bugs.
Repotting your Phalaenopsis will cause stress. The less stress on the plant, the better chances of keeping it in bloom all year. The American Orchid Society recommends waiting for the blooms to fade before repotting. Enjoy your beautiful blooms.
The last DON'T is move your orchid around; especially before acclimated.
I know your orchid is beautiful but it isn't decoration. You have a living creature. Like most living creatures; it needs stability.
After your orchid is acclimated, keeping it watered just enough is the main key to keep it in bloom all year. Place in a bright window, Leave it alone until you see growth. This is the true answer to how to rebloom your orchid.
