Thanks for the video. I will watch it again before I rebuild my 2 leaking cylinders. Your video is very helpful.

Very thorough and instructive video. Thank you for the effort! I will now replace the swing cylinder seals on my Kubota. By the way, the dealer wanted $88 plus shipping (shipping time: two weeks), but I got my rebuild kit from a domestic supplier (American made) for $18.87 (free shipping). Kubota rip-off.

Woukd love to see a video on pulling the swing cylinder out for a rebuild

Most people who rebuild them do it on the machine as it is less overall work. To remove them you would have to unbolt the large plate above the cylinders, disconnect the hoses, remove the cylinder rod pins, and then lift them out. Hope this helps but I would definitely recommend doing them in the machine if possible.

Take cap off hydraulic so it can vent when you pull out the cylinder

I am having all kinds of hell getting the pins out. Is there a secret? Thanks for the video!

Ours came out pretty easily, so I don’t have any specific tips. I’d start with a good bath of penetrating oil, you might want to spray some and move the machine so it can seep in deeper and break free. Fill it with grease too if it’s dry. And it might be the hoe is binding up you might need to reposition the arm and take the weight off.

I'm going to do the same cylinder, but i was planning on taking the cylinder off and then doing the rebuild......May I ask why ya'll didn't remove the complete cylinder from the machine?
@BrollBrothersProductions

It’s unnecessary they’re designed to be rebuilt from the front, and it holds it to break the cap free. It’s a much larger job to fully remove them.

Do you have the part # for seal kit
@BrollBrothersProductions

Seal kits were from eBay part number: 85802570. Double check the microfiche for your cylinder # to confirm that is the right kit.

I have a 655a "86 model with blown hose that runs in between the cylinder, I have both ends off but can't see what is keeping me from pulling hose ot. Any sugedtions?

It’s hard to say based on the description. But it might be helpful to pull up the microfiche for your model and check the diagrams. On mine the hose between them is just free swinging, with both fittings removed it would fall on the ground. Checkout messicks.com > online parts > new Holland > construction (and then search for your model ( Ford was bought by new Holland).

Not sure I haven’t experienced that issue so I haven’t had to troubleshoot, I would put a post up on tractorbynet . Com - people there are usually really helpful for pinpointing issues
