Good video , You made it look easier then it really is. I have done these on many makes of bikes and seen many people Fail trying it themselves and they end up calling me to help them get it back together. Floor jack and vice trick was even new to me . Thanks for all your videos you post !

Great video, I have to do the same thing to my 09 heritage Softail. You were very detailed, and made it a lot less intimidating. Thank you.

Great Tutorial. I especially liked the inner tube/Press Jig/PVC hacks. Great stuff for those of us who have not done this 1000 times.

Great video. I was wondering how I would compress my spring on reassembly. Floor jack solution is genius. Thanks for sharing.

Great video ill definitely be referencing this video when i do mine. I was told sometimes the seal gets curled and you can reach in with a small pick and pull it back in position is this a thing that you ever run into, this is before rebuilding but noticing a little oil.

So great video. im thinkin we both have a drawer that looks the same full of Harley specialty tools lol. Any ways right at the end you filled it with oil then went to put it on bike then this black rubber seal appeared what was that and is that for the softail models? im getting ready to rebuild mine as soon as my kit get here. looks straight forword enuff. but was just curious to that last seal coz you never mentioned it going on. its at 19:54 in the video

That's just the seal that I installed earlier, the lighting makes it more noticeable. I didn't add anything extra between frames.

I got a question for you. I ride a ‘09 heritage. I’ve had medical issues with ankles so haven’t ridden in a bit. Checked the oil the other day….look very low. Filled up to fill line cold. Today ran the bike until hot, checked the oil. Now I’m way above fill line hot. Is it best to check when hot vs cold? I’m mechanically inclined when it comes to trucks….Harley’s are a different ball game.

Did you check the oil level before you fired it up? If so, the oil may have "sumped". If they sit for a while, oil can seep past the oil pump and collect in the engine. The oil in the tank will show low but when you start it up the oil collected in the engine will push back into the tank. I always check the oil level after running the bike for a few minutes. You can check it cold or hot as most dipsticks have both levels marked on them.

Great content. Looking to do my 04 Wide Glide with the same forks. Questioning the Drag Specialties parts. Heard the aftermarket stuff is not the same as the O.E.? Fork seals not as thick as originals etc. Did you match all the parts up? Did everything look the same? Thanks again for a great video

Thanks for the response. I haven't had any problems with the Drag Specialties parts. They looked good and fit just like the OEM parts.

What size wrench are you using for the pinch bolt? A 5/8 fits but is pretty loose. I just don't want to round the head
