Rodecaster pro III with 32 bit float recording?
@AndreasDeTangonautics
Ай бұрын
Thanks for the video! I just got my second NT1 5th and have two questions for recording Stereo in 32bit float on a Mac via the builtin interface: 1. After the Audio MIDI Setup is there anything to setup in Rode Connect? 2. Is there a workflow how to setup sereo 32 bit float recording in Ableton Live? I cannot get the second Mic running, I guess it is because I can only assign one Audio Interface to Ableton?

To use two NT1 5th Gens on a Mac using 32-bit float, check out the 'Connecting Multiple NT1 5th Generation Microphones via USB' section of the user guide - rode.com/en/user-guides/nt1-5th-generation#section-connecting-multiple-nt15th-generation-microphones-via-usb

Can you tell me how are you recording the audio on this video? Are you using a rodecaster to ingest the audio or something else?

Hello I bought the rode NT1 5TH generation and the A-1 sound card and the NTH100 headphones. But I'm having trouble connecting it. in fact when I connect the microphone via USB, the microphone is displayed on the different applications such as unify, rode connecte and rode central. But, when the USB cable is connected to the AI sound card and I connect it to the desktop, the A1 sound card, I have the sound but the microphone is not recognized by the application or the computer. This is actually my biggest problem. I can say that the microphone works when I connect it to the XLR since I have feedback via the headset but the microphone is not recognized by the computer application either. I want to know how to use my microphone and my sound card on my Windows computer.

As long as the audio from the NT1 5th Gen comes through when selecting the AI-1 as the input device (connecting the microphone via XLR), it should work fine. The computer does not recognize the microphone directly as it is being fed through the interface :) Hope this clarifies!

Does Smule app on the PC support 32 bit float technology ? What about KZitem does it support 32 bit float recording? I have installed the ASIO driver for Windows already.

Hi RODE! I downloaded and installed the ASIO-NT1G5 driver however I couldn't open the ASIO control panel. (I clicked on the ASIO configuration button) The input/output drop down menus were also blank. Is there a way to fix this issue? I think I did something wrong. Thank you in advance.

NT1 5th generation Only the USB connection has the 32-bit float? what about the XLR connection? thanks
@rodemic

32-bit float is a feature of digital audio transmissions. An XLR port is an analogue port. So, by the nature of what it is, it can't transmit 32-bit float audio. If you use it with a digital audio interface that supports 32-bit float, that digital audio will be in 32-bit float.

Hi - When selecting Audio device settings and choosing ASIO reaper just crashes and closes down on me. This is after I installed the driver and restarted my computer. Is this a known issue any idea how to fix? Thank you
@rodemic
9 ай бұрын
Hey there- the ASIO driver needs to have "exclusive" use of the device, so other programs can't use it. You mentioned that you've restarted your PC already, but it's worth restarting your PC, making sure that the device isn't being used by any other applications, and trying again. If it's still not working, we'd recommend getting in touch with our support team here: rode.com/en/support/contact

Is there any way to connect this mic directly into a Canon camera?
@rodemic
11 ай бұрын
Hey there- that really depends how your Canon camera connects to audio sources. You're likely using a camera with a 3.5mm audio input, so no, this wouldn't work because even if you found an adaptor to connect it to this mic's XLR output, it wouldn't carry P48 phantom power, which this mic needs in order to work. If you're looking to stream or make KZitem videos instead, what you may want instead is an interface like a RØDE Streamer X which has a capture card and an XLR mic input, so you can record directly into your computer.

Hey there, the NT1 5th Generation is capable of both 32-bit float and 192kHz recording simulatenously in USB mode, so the answer to your question is "you'll get some great sounding audio in your recordings!"

So, why didn't Rode equip PodMic USB with 32-bit? 32-bit is now the standard and any equipment with 24-bit is useless antique.
