I have been sampling my bass into the MPC by playing in the sampler but I like this version better we’re actually using an audio track thanks for opening my eyes

Awesome. I just had the idea to do this and automatically thought I would have to buy a bass preamp or somesuch. Very cool whenever I find out I don’t have to spend more money….

yeah! It's not the cleanest way to do it, but it works!

DI Box it's the cheapest solution to convert the signal into a balanced signal without using a preamp. The way in the video works but the signal is unbalanced ,with external noise and with a lower dynamic.

I appeciate the video because I learned how to do this. Now when I went to save the project the audio track was not recorded when I went to reload? I had a hard stop warning to either cancel or risk of losing said track. Which was the bass line I recorded. Any idea why?? please help

Thanks for making this vid, I’m going to give it a try. Do you have any recommendations for effects for bass?

I don’t use that much fancy effects on bass guitar, but compressor? 😂 there is an amp sim plugin on the MPC now - didn’t exist back when I made this video, thats something to play around with. On my computer I use Amplitube as an amp sim wich is pretty good. Oh and saturation is always good to get any bass (synth or bassguitar) to sound a little brighter and cut through the mix a little bit. ✌️

Pretty good quality for just straight into the mpc, I'm a bad bass player after years od neglect, but I've picked it back up cause it's a shame to put my beautiful bass to waste , no judgement with your playing !

Yeah, its a little surprising! Now you can connect an audio interface to the MPC with usb, which is even better. I need to put work into my bass playing, I just have so much else to do! 😂

It is an active or passive bass?

I always thought u needed to go into a interface.

Using an interface is definitely best practice. This is kinda sketchy and not super clean. Since I made this video there have been an update to the MPC that allows you to use external audio intefaces. If you have one with Hi-Z input you can use that with bass guitar or guitar, that's what I do these days if I'm recording my bass into the MPC.

Add the channel strip effect to the input effects to boost the incoming signal
@ambrushadam

@Roland_Tr909_Swing

@ambrushadam you could also add a filter onto the incoming samples up to 4 effects in chain ..fix the sample before its printed.
