Awesome stuff, and brings back memories of me hearing that played live at the Royal Albert Hall by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra! As for a reconstruction of a song, Jean-Michel Jarre has an album called Zoolook, and IMO it’s his most creative album to date. One track in particular, Zoolookologie, is absolutely incredible, and I have never really heard a decent homage to it. People struggle to get the sound and structure nailed, and while it’s a challenge, I’m sure you’re up to the task! 😉

Of course, I'm a regular KZitem user here, but I think that if you want to create a hit for all time, the studio should have a drum kit. If I had a lot of money, I first started creating a studio with a drum kit. Perhaps half the amount would have gone into arranging the tone of the drummer's room. Why? Because the drum kit is the spirit of the composition, its breathing. Nice drum part, that's half of the work done in my opinion. The problem is that I hardly find good drummers in Russia. All some session money buffs. Thanks for attention.

Wow this took me back to being on my first pro tour as a teenage trumpet player just out of school in 79. This song used to come towards the finale of the show, it was the one all the brass guys used to save their lips for then absolutely go for it for the last 10 minutes of the show. Many of the guys off the show went on to do some huge projects. Our drummer the following year who did all our arrangements I believe ended up in Hollywood. But this song was one that had all the audience on their feet when we played it. It was a great summer season, with plenty of cool songs e.g. pick up the pieces and a load from Saturday night fever. Very happy days and one of the best tours I have ever been on. Luckily this particular song ended up in the show until I left at the end of 1981. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

These days they hardly compose Melodies anymore in movies. And it’s annoying an annoying drone or synth brass hit. But creating complex Melodies that add to the visual spectacle is very rare. I just watched all Rocky movies last week and everyone of them has a great musical theme. I mean Vince DiCola, created another masterpiece and Survivor with eye of the Tiger, albeit a simple rock song drives the movie. It’s tone they get back to actually composing good old memories again.

SWAM is great and all but it's just no substitute for a real horn section. Particularly when it comes to accenting notes and the articulation of the phrasing.
