I just got into learning to rappel , and I'm still working my way up to higher and higher stuff. I'm learning my knots really well , and I've spent about 1100.00 bucks but I made sure not to skimp on the helmet and I got a really good static rope and grigri. I've also spent a good amount of time learning anchors and personal anchor systems. I've also researched the reason for accidents so I can avoid them.

How do you anchor to bridge? Kind of the the bridge you can see in the background of this video?

I knew you would love those new-ish Camp Nimbus’es. Can tell in your other vids how most of your rack is various HMS biners

The Petzl Dual Connect Vario seems like a better option than the adjust. What are people's thoughts?

I like both but 2 pts of contact is always ideal imho, lots of guides I see are using the connect (single). Think they are both solid options and I like that its also dynamic rope instead of the normal PAS that's dyneema.

I use the Dual Connect Adjust where the other arm serves at the rappel extension. Can the Vario be used that way?

I prefer the connect adjust because you can still do a repel extension with the single strand connect adjust. Just tie some knot (I use a clove hitch but you could do others) and then attach your belay device to the knotted section. Now you can get on rappel and then take yourself off safety. It just doesn’t seem like it makes much sense to get a two stranded version that’s more expensive when the connect adjust does the job.

Beginners are excited to learn to rappel. Experienced climbers are happy to avoid rappelling when possible.
