My jaw cracks loud when I open it beyond a certain point. My TMJ gives me anxiety, because the muscles in my jaw go into an involuntary twitches at random times. I am so grateful for these videos because I didn't know what I had wrong with me for so many years.

New to your content. Thank you for this video. I’m too far away to sign up for your protocol but I will implement what I can. My TMJ on one side was injured during wisdom teeth removal surgery and no diagnosis as the time. I noticed an increase in grinding and that the upper teeth on that side got pushed up into the jaw over time as the lower jaw sat higher. Over the last almost 30 years I’ve managed to achieve a life with function and very little pain but of course lots of snap crackle and popping in the jaw. It sounds like you are familiar with hypermobility disorders and I believe that for me this explains this injury as well as many other mysterious and unusual injuries and subluxations over the years. I’ve been looking for a supplement to support my much more hypermobile children and this looks like the one. Thank you again!

Thank you for such an informative and helpful video. I love all of the resources you provide on your channel. I'm curious: do these exercises actually help get the disc back where it's supposed to be? I'm worried about wear and tear on the bone so I would like to get it back to a safe place to prevent any bone issues. Thank you.
@theTMJdoc

Theoretically they can help the discs get back in alignment but it would take a really long time (several years) with these exercises only. An orthotic and manual manipulation would speed things along.

I noticed how incredibly high the dose of manganese was in the Ligaplex supplements, which caused concern about potential toxicity. I’m not really clear on how manganese is detoxed from the body and if over 1000% of your daily value is considered safe. I’d love to get your thoughts on the matter before taking this product. Thank you!

Dear Dr Priy, magnificent video, so useful information, thanks for sharing. I'll try to get these supplements in my country. About the guard, is it always necessary when it comes to treating TMD? I'm asking because I was so excited about getting my guard, but after tomography, radiography, dental print, photographs and physical examination, my Dr. discarded the possibility for me to use a guard, and confused and sent me directly to orthodontia, because I was pretty sure the guard was the best treatment for TMD. Thank you

Thank you for all your videos. I have limited opening of 25mm and a strong deflection to the left on opening. I did 4 months of physical therapy where I went from 10mm to 25mm. I recently had an MRI and it said my left condyle is "markedly eroded" and the disc appears "diffusely degenerated". Do you suggest exercises like this or do you think they will just erode the condyle more? Thankfully I don't have much pain and the tmj specialist I saw said to stop doing stretching exercises and to come back in a year if any pain started. I'm trying to be proactive but don't want to make things worse. Thank you!!

Why is it so difficult for the displaced disk to get back into position?!? Is it the over worked muscles and inflammation that prevent this?
@theTMJdoc
2 жыл бұрын
It's a number of reasons - the muscles can be too tight, the disc can start to change shape. The anatomy of the articular eminence can also play a role.

Hello doctor, I Watched your video about mewing. Normally my tongue is always touches the roof of my mouth when I close the mouth. Is that a mewing by default or do I need to press the tongue hard against roof of mouth When I press my whole tongue (back part of tongue) against roof of my mouth, I cannot able to breath.

I would recommend seeing a provider who is trained in myofunctional therapy rather than trying to change your tongue posture on your own as this could strain muscles and cause pain.
