Very helpful tutorial! One thing I Personally struggle with the most is where I get my sounds from. Like, you're just using a sample pack, but I want to spend as less money as possible so I want to be able to create my own kicks and leads. I was wondering if maybe you could try and make a tutorial for that as well?
@0000song0000
Жыл бұрын
dude... record the sounds you like 😀 like, have you ever hit a dor, box, furniture or whatever and be like "ohhh this would make a great kick or snare or whatevs" record it and then edit it on your daw, change speed,tune it, do whatever you want... then when people ask you can proudly say "yeah that kick is a milk crate" 🙉
@AutPen38
Жыл бұрын
How much time do you spend designing sounds? Let's say you have an hour. How much do you value your time? Let's suppose you usually work for 10 dollars an hour. In this example, spending an hour on sound design effectively costs you ten dollars because you could have been earning ten dollars doing a job. If you simply buy a ten dollar soundpack you save your valuable time. Trying to make your own sounds when actual professionals have already done it is a false economy. In many cases it's literally "cheaper" to buy a pack than waste your time making your own sounds.

@skaffatar7664

@@AutPen38 I don't completely agree with this. Since I work a fulltime job, I can't work any more than 40 hours because I'm bounded by my contract. I understand what you're saying, that I'm missing out on money. But I'm really not. I do music as a hobby so I don't mind wasting a bit of time on it because it will expand my knowledge of sound design. I value my time a lot. But I would rather spend my time learning things, than just buying someone elses work and using it. That being said though, I struggle with sound design because I can't find any good tutorials for it in my particular genre (Hardcore). There's lots of tutorials, but all of them use sample packs or they don't explain anything about the plugins they use or the knobs they turn, resulting in me wasting my time for hours regardless. And on top of that, it demotivated me to the point I quit after 2 hours of doing essentially nothing. So what it comes down to, is that I don't know anything about sound design and that's the missing piece for me. I have endless ideas, just no idea how to implement those ideas. In my head I would create a complete track with buildup and drop, detailed to every kick and sound effect. Also a reason why it's better to learn sound design as opposed to paying for sample packs. It will allow me to create the sounds exactly like in my head, instead of looking the internet for hours looking for that particular sound I need

Quick tip is to probably not look online for tempo, as they are often wrong for some reason. Or sometimes you can't find it online anyway. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong. If you check online, test it with tap tempo.

Hey quick one, when remixing what do you need to know to avoid copyright issues before releasing the remix. And what can you do on fl with the track without getting copyright issues? 😊
@AutPen38
Жыл бұрын
The copyright is assigned to the writers of the top line melody (e.g. the tune of the vocals) and the publisher of the original recording, so unless your remix is completely unrecognisable (an original track, with a different title etc), the intellectual property remains with the original creator. You can't just put it on Spotify or Beatport and expect the money to roll in. 'Bootleg' remixes are more typically used for DJing and or as a way of showing off your skills in the hope that the copyright holder will release it officially (and pay you a remixing fee) or your remix will impress someone else who will ask you to produce or remix a different track for them.
