I might suggest using dental floss to saw through the adhesive.

This did help... I wanted to move my mount over by an inch to better center the camera. Windex took the residue off the glass. Thanks!

This is an important aspect of owning a dashcam. When you sell your car you have to move it. Also, I always take my dashcam with me on trips. I bought a good alligator holder for the rental car. BlackBoxMyCar please show video of how to TEMPORARILY REMOVE the dashcam and then put it back. I have a VIOFO and I have had BLACKVIEW.

Thanks for the video. I have been needing to swap out my dead camera for a while now. (The new camera uses a different mounting bracket.)

I was told some fish wire might do the trick too? You use to go across the sticker.

if you use heat gun or a hair dryer, it is even more easier.
@Lo_649

Ok question, if I use a heat gun should I heat it up from the outside of the windsheid or should I just use it from the inside of the vehicle?
@blackboxmycar

We typically do it from the outside, make sure to take the camera off the mount first

Good suggestion and better than fishing line etc as I find that can allow the cam to re-stick immediately behind where the line has just cut through! To remove the glue residue - dont apply any chemical, just roll it all together into a ball by pushing with your finger / thumb. After removing the main bulk if any tiny bits remain that can´t be rolled together, then is the time to use any chemical aids For plastic tints avoid the chemicals completely unless 100% sure they won´t react.

I see you have tint on the windsheild - did it hurt the tint?
@blackboxmycar
Ай бұрын
No, the dash cam didn’t harm the tint. Just be sure to place it carefully, and you should be fine! If you’re worried, you can always check with a professional installer to ensure everything is done properly.

Update. I manage to remove the mount using the credit card method. It was a bit difficult due to the type of glue used which smell like superglue.

This will scratch your window tint. Better to use heat gun or dental floss.

What about if I want to move my dashcam from one car and put it on another one?

Hello there, In that case we would recommend suction mount cameras such as the Vicovation Opia 2

What about mounting the camera on tint? Equally easy to adhere and remove or need to be extra cautious?
@blackboxmycar

Hello Toby, That is correct, easy to apply, but be cautious with removing as it could damage your tint.
