I thought you'd like to know that your video is still helping. I referred to it today to remove my Raceface Aeffect crankset. In my case the 8mm hex bolt has seized so I'm resorting to drilling that out.

Guys, leave the outer cap in place, it allows the bolt press away the crank arm once it makes contact with the cap. No special tool needed.

So many people say this and they are wrong with this crank, there is one version where that will work on the crank. Apparently there are different version of this same crank depending on year built.

Awesome. Got these cranks on my Norco Torrent. Couldn't work out how to get them off. I already had the CCP-44 tool. But I had it listed on eBay as I didn't think I needed for this bike (I'd originally bought it for an older bike). Quickly ended the item!!

DMLjeff Yeah I couldn't find any correct info on how to remove the arms so when I did I told myself to make this video so other people didn't have to waste time looking for info that isn't out there for some strange reason. So the first part of the video upload poorly

I just purchased a set of Aeffect cranks with the Cinch chainring. I cannot find anything on the Race Face site about that space that's behind the drive-side crank arm. On the R.F. site, the PDF link to instructions for the Aeffect crank is for aluminum EXI cranks and NOT the Aeffect Cinch. Race Face needs to do a more thorough job with the details.

Scott Vines I really have experience with Raceface Next cranks and Race threaded BSA Bottom Brackets 68/73. If using them setting the spacing needed is done with the 3 spacers on the BB to match the crank arm length

KerkerMeister The Evil Wrechoning here in the video it is not a pressfit bb, it is a BSA Bottom Bracket 73mm wide. I'm using a Raceface BSA 30 68/73 on it with Raceface Next Sl cranks.

No goes in easy. Clean out the threads with a cleaner and check for damaged threads should go in easy, maybe a little pressure with a wrench.

There was no side to side play on mine when using correct spacers for BB BSA 173. When I switched over to Raceface Next cranks using the correct spacers had side to side play about 2mm of side by, but on the Raceface Next cranks there is adjustment for that preload.

John Davidson Thanks for responding. I take a look at the chart. The bike came assembled with this cranks and after about 30-40 miles of hard riding and climbing I noticed about 1/8" side to side play. Im picking up the tool tomorrow to dive into it and keep you posted.

Yeah I did took about 3 hours but finally noticed bottom bracket on non drive side didn't have a spacer can. Once I put that on the crank spacing was perfect and super easy to install. Thanks for the help

If you leave the outer bolt screwed in, you can just unscrew the 8mm allen bolt and it acts as a self extractor against the outer bolt. You don't really need a crank puller, just 2 minutes on race face website to read the instructions...

My bolt must be welded on, ive used an extender on my 8mm allen key and it just broke the key, the bolt hasent moved at all.

Wow! These may seem like a dumb question, but are you turning the allen wrench the correct way to remove it? Also if it was been on for a long time and been in water it may need some heat on the crank arm to help expand the. Crank arm to help loose the bolt. If you use heat be very careful not to get it to hot too cause damage to it and other components.

Yes that is corrrct. To break a 8mm allen wrench wow on the dust cover bolt wow again. May some heat on it, but there is a o-ring seal on the dust cover bolt if I remember correctly so that may get damaged if using some heat to help loosen it. Also sometimes and heat it up and let it cool back down that helps some times

Or you could take the cheaper option, leave the 10mm dust cap in and undo the 8mm bolt. The dust cap acts as a crank puller. If you look at KZitem tutorials of other raceface models says that’s what to do

Got the same cranks on my bike do it every time I service it, it works perfectly even when they’re on really tight just make sure the cover is on nice and tight and undo with 8 mm Allen key. I guess your just gutted bout spending 20$ + on a tool you didn’t need!

Those are self extracting bro. Remove the inside bolt without taking the outside cap off (cap needs to be Tight!) The inside bolt will press against the cap untill the crank comes off. No crank puller needed.

Check out the other videos online. If you leave the outer dust cover in place and go through the opening with an 8mm the cranks self extracts as the locking nut pushes out on that cover nut. No special tools required.
