I’m going out to try this right now! [EDIT] Many thanks for your video 😊👍👍 I have over half of them removed already. This works great. In fact I put my hammer down and just put a lot of pressure on the screwdriver while twisting it down until it hits the shoulder, then pry it over, push a bit farther down and pop it out!

The only reason I had my new 10 ply tires studded is because I saw this video in November. Can't afford to buy two sets of tires for the truck. This saved me a bunch of money and soap rinsed right off with the hose. Thank you for posting the easiest video on how to do this. We had everything we needed without running to the store.

Thank you Thank you!! Even middle aged gals can do this. The soap definitely made a difference, as well as going straight down to hit the base of stud, and then angling out, to pop them out. When you can't count on anyone, find the best video (this one) and do it yourself. I didn't even take my 17' tires off my SUV, just moved it a few inches at a time.

I tried the dish soap on the first three just using my hands and a screwdriver. On tire # 4, I tried Lock-Ease Graphited Fluid because my hands were killing me. Lock-Ease is the way to GO ! it sinks in around the studs in a second and is DEFINITELY easier and quicker than Dish Soap and a Hammer. As far a using a petroleum / solvent based liquid on tires, there isn't enough on there long enough to have any adverse effects...

@@zacharymiller1107 I used a narrow flathead screwdriver, it slips right down to the shoulder of the stud, get the tip under the shoulder and they pop right out - took about 10 minutes to remove about 100 studs...

This is fantastic. I just started doing this with some gator mouth style Vice clamps.... I got two out. Thought “this is going take forever”... I found this by accident looking to see if i should fill the holes with rubber cement. Studs will no longer be going in these because they are of no use to me. Any recommendations?
@troysneadbloodhoundgarage

There is no need to fill the holes. Just run them as you would normally run them. I am glad it helped you!

@@troysneadbloodhoundgarage hey ... it got so easy after the first ten or so, I ended up ditching the hammer. it was slowing me down. (Not bad considering I was going to fight through rubber tread just to grab a ton of small steel pellets with some vice grips before I watched this) I ended up just pouring dish soap in a cup, dipping the tip of the driver in there, and then just going to town. Smooth as silk. Dip, push down, push in, and pluck up. Works like a charm. That doesn’t mean I’d want to do any more than I need to though! 😂 Serious, thank again. Funny thing was before I attempted this I wasn’t even sure it was possible to take them out. I thought those things might’ve somehow been weaved into the radial because I didn’t know the construction.
