So you made the mistake of getting super glue onto your expensive flat-screen TV….
What now? You tried wiping it off with alcohol and WD-40 but it didn’t work :'(
You're pretty sure this means you have to buy another TV but you also think it might be worth trying to save it... and here you are. Good luck and proceed at your own risk!
*UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER* No signs at all of the superglue and the TV is in great shape.
**********************************IMPORTANT INFORMATION****************************************
Basically the TV screen is kind of like a piece of glass. So long as you have a perfectly flat, perfectly uniform surface to lightly scrape with- it will slide across smoothly because the pressure is light and the angle of the blade is very steep (the WD-40 is acting as a lubricant preventing scratching).
Just be aware that if you choose to try this- you are taking a medium to low risk of damaging the TV even further. Pressing too hard on the razor blade might cut the screen slightly and may or may not be noticeable.
Though I was able to successfully remove all of the super glue without causing any damage- make sure to tape off the edges of the screen thoroughly on places where the WD-40 can get into cracks of the TV. This is almost guaranteed to damage the screen though again, I had no issues at all.
