Use these instructions at your own risk. In fact don't follow these instructions. If you wish to proceed then you take on all liability.
These instructions require access to the 'green menu' or factory settings menu and use of the Ross-Tech VCDS. VCDS can be used to enable the green menu.
These instructions are to code out the 'Charisma switch' (a switch on the dash that modifies suspension response) when your car does not have that switch. My 2010 audi S5 cabriolet does not have the switch, module or shocks.
These instructions are also helpful if you remove that system and go with a simpler set up or aftermarket suspension.
I highly recommend VCDS which is an ODB2 USB reader used with software on my windows 10 laptop. It is worth the money in diagnosing and fixing your car. One problem solved and it has paid for itself. And you can call BS on unneeded service.
I discovered this error after an 'autoscan' which checks every module for errors. I do not know if the error was introduced or was always there.
Having 'Charisma' coded/ on a car 'without charisma' is an annoyance. It does not cause a CEL (Check Engine Light) and had no impact on my car's operation. At first I had to figure out what the hell the 'charisma' switch was.
Faults can have a cascading effect and fixing one sometimes causes other faults to disappear.
I have seen people reporting this error in the forums with cars that do not have the suspension response modification button on the dash but see the error.
Our narrator is the great German mechanic Gertruda von Gearzlappin. It is her guiding light that has helped me service my cars and make the odd VAG repair video.
