I have the exact same saw brand new, I wanted to remove my clutch and install the 8 pin rim sprocket. So I tried the exact same procedure as you did only after three good hits the clutch didn't move so I got a three jaw puller and removed it that way simple I should of used it in the first place. When I went to start the saw it started up then upon giving it throttle it would bog then die. Apparently when doing it your way the crank must of pressed hard against the crank bearing. I removed the spark plug and pull rope it over the engine was real tight. After about 10 more pulls it freed up then it was running normal again. I thought I had ruined the crank. My advice is to use a 3 jaw puller.

Hello! Is this chainsaw suitable for heavy duty? Example: Sawing logs or Sawing posts.
