So, I have a TV, that's Samsung, and I think, when we got a lightning strike, that the tuner controller got fried for the HDMI ports, is their anyway to check to see if the mainboard needs to be replaced. Thanks in advanced, UserNumber2.
@tvpartstoday

You could troubleshoot the HDMI ports by plugging a working electronic device into it and seeing if you get functionality from that port, then move to the other ports to check them. You could also take the back off of the TV and take a look at the mainboard, specifically around the HDMI.

First off, thanks for the free instructional content. I have a Samsung tv: UN43TU7000FXZA. I'm trying to do my own maintenance on that aforementioned tv, specifically, I'm planning on removing the debris that got trapped behind the tv screen and possibly some of the layers behind the tv screen, if necessary. Question: How is the UN43TU7000FXZA's screen attached to the tv itself, considering it's marketed by Samsung as a "borderless" tv? Is the screen glued to any degree to the chassis? Any accurate information about such would be greatly appreciated.
@tvpartstoday
2 жыл бұрын
Well I can say for sure the screen isn't glued. Every TV is slightly different but they are all basically the same as well. Take the back off and remove anything holding the screen (and circuit boards permanently attached to the screen) in place from the back side and then flip the tv of and VERY gently remove the screen. The screens are known to break very easily so this is where you will need to be most cautious.
@davide724
2 жыл бұрын
@@tvpartstoday Thanks for the reply. The reason I mentioned an adhesive was because with the TU7000, there's a narrow layer of some kind of adhesive present in the very narrow open space between the edge of the tv screen and the edge of the bezel on both the left, right and possibly top sides of the front of the tv. And I believe the adhesive was applied from each end of that aforementioned very narrow open space on both the left and right sides of the tv, and possibly the top side, too. It can be difficult to notice the adhesive, if there isn't something stuck to it already, because I believe it's supposed to be something not obvious to the viewer looking at the front of tv, so to avoid it being displeasing, for whatever reason. Perhaps, the adhesive may have been applied to prevent any particles present outside of the tv from getting behind the screen itself, functioning as a particle catcher, I suppose. I suppose until I remove the screen from the chassis, I won't completely understand how the screen itself is secured to the chassis. From what I discovered about how the screen is secured to the tv so far, the bottom bezel (which was easily removable) clearly is responsible for securing the bottom of the tv screen from the bottom left corner, to the bottom right corner of the bottom bezel. But what relationship the left, right and top singular piece of "borderless" bezel has with the screen itself, I've yet to discover.

If you have a Samsung, about a 50" 4K, but the info label on the back cover is missing, can you tell the correct model number on the inside? Removing the back cover and looking around. Thank you 🤓 the other question is, is it worth it to take a flat screen TV that seems to work, but the screen is cracked, remove the boards, cables, and try to sell them on eBay? Hello, If the label is missing off the back of the Tv most times you can find the model number on the main board. With the Samsung parts they do list the model number on the barcode sticker where the part number is listed. I'm not exactly sure what piece you are talking about that is covering the top of the backplate. @tvpartstoday

You would want to move the circuit boards from the set that has the busted screen into the set that dose not have a busted screen. You have a rare situation of having one TV with a good screen but it has defective circuit boards AND you have the EXACT same TV with a busted screen and circuit boards that function properly. Trying to move the screen from one TV to another is NOT RECOMENDED. You run the risk of breaking the good screen. The serial number is recorded on the sticker on the back of the TV. There's no reason to worry about the serial number that you see in the menu being different than the one you see on the back of the TV.

I just ordered a power supply for a 75” I found while driving it was nicely packed up I guess for anyone who wanted to grab it. The tv turns on tv moment you plug it in and restarts every 3-5 seconds so hopefully it’s just the power supply issue because I disconnected the main board and plug it in which the tv constantly clicks on and off with all leds lighting up so I figured ordering a power supply will fix it. On the side note we recently had some strong impact storms recently so it makes sense if it’s a surge damage situation.

Are the parts new or used?

We harvest parts from TVs that have cracked screens. We don't advertise our parts as new because they have to be harvested from TV sets. The TV manufactures don't make extra parts. With this being said, a lot of our parts are in "new" condition having never been used.

Having such a struggle with my main board. It’s screwless but has four of those tabs. Living nightmare to not damage the main board.

If the wifi module is separate replace that. If the wifi module is built in to the main board then you will want to replace the main board.
