Note from experience, use a pan that you don't want to use for anything else. Once wax is in a pan it is almost impossible to get it clean again. Beeswax can also be used for lip balm, candles and other products. I've been a eekeeper for about 20 years, a great hobby.

Awesome video. I used to make syrups/tinctures/etc for fancy cocktails in Chicago. I know my way around cheesecloth and fresh ingredients, this looked akin to that. Always great to use everything.

Easier still, add everything to a pot with water, bring to boil, strain repeat. So much extra work

Interesting! I wonder if the 2nd step would be necessary if it was just run through cotton or muslin cloth the 1st time.

The issue with running it through too fine of a filter, on your first heat, is that it will cool down and solidify before making it through the filter. Thanks for watching! -William

That’s so cool, I always learn so much from your channel! I canned chicken for the first time last week...it’s ok the water bath can chicken right? Lmbo kidding 🤣😁 I used a pressure canner for the first time and it turned out great!!

I’m not so sure water bath caring of meats doesn’t work. Michelle‘s grandmother has been canning pork chicken and beef that way for years because she’s afraid of a pressure canner. Disclaimer: I personally wouldn’t do it… Congratulations on your first chicken canning!

No hate but you guys seem to go through a lot of Ziploc bags. Do you have a method of cleaning or reuse for them? I've never been able go get very reliable reuse out of them, so I've been trying to switch to other locking, more reusable plastics like salvaged 5 gallon buckets

No shame! I'm struggling to reduce my use as well. Glassware like pyrex is so expensive I've never been able to invest in a good freezer set, although eventually I'd like to move away from freezing for preservation to embrace long term preservation curing and other much older practices

@@jaewok5G Please forgive me… My seventh grade sense of humor took over. In a couple of days Michelle and William will drill holes into oak logs to fill with mushroom spores. The wax will be used to seal it.
