Helpful video, good close up shots for the details. Good thanks.

My hot tap has not been turning off for days. I heard about tap reviver kits. I've never changed a washer before but successfully did so yesterday with a tap reviver kit. I have OCD and get very anxious about this sort of thing. It was a bit of a struggle as I didn't know how to get the handwheel off and wasn't sure if I was doing it right when the gland wasn't undoing but then it came undone. The tap reviver kit was so easy to install, no doubt easier than changing individual parts. I thought I'd say this in case it's helpful to anyone reading this though I appreciate this video will be helpful to some too.

If only every tap washer replacement was this easy. Sometimes the isolation valve leaks when you turn it .Sometimes the mains stopcock is seized or doesn't fully shut off. Sometimes you can't unscrew the screw. Sometimes you can't get the top off. Sometimes you can't get the tap valve out. Sometimes the tap moves unless you have The Easy Tap Splitter. Sometimes it's the seating rather than the washer. Sometimes you find that it isn't a standard 3/8 or 1/2 washer. And sometimes despite your C&G qualifications and 40 years experience you have to replace the tap and then you will need more tools than the apprentice or DIYer will have.

Thanks, very clear and great photography. My problem is that I can't get the tap head (probably not the technical term) off it's spindle because the trim is very streamlined and space age. It's not as all obvious how I can get the tap screw accessible to get the tap off.

Does your excellent instructive video, apply to hot taps too ? ie, with a Combi, do i have to turn of the supply to it, or just turn the Temporature / timer down Low.

But try finding any coloured parts and use a flay head screw to take it off
