In this video we will teach you not one but two different sustainability techniques on how to repair Moth Holes in Woven fabrics like jackets, trousers shirts etc.
Lets not beat around the bush... Moths are dicks...I think we can all agree on that! They break into your home and eat your clothes...dicks! First off if you get some lavender pouches in your wardrobe it will keep them away, if they have already got in there and eaten some of your clothes we have the solution for you wonderful people.
We will be covering 2 techniques to repair these, the first is Darning, which is building back up the fabric using needle and thread and and the second is Felting which uses a darning needle and wool roving (this is wool in its raw state before it is turned into yarn for knitting) to create a "patch" of wool that fuses with the original fabric.
For this you will need
Darning
- Needle
- Thread
- Scissors
- Embroidery Hoop
- Seam Ripper
- Iron
Felting
- Felting Needle
- Felting Pad
- Wool Roving
- Scissors
- Seam Ripper
- Iron
Everything needed for this video can be bought online for under ten pounds at your local haberdashery store or online.
Here is the link for the technique to close the lining seam as mentioned at the end

If you have any repairs or techniques that you want us to make a video on let us know in the comments.
We are all about sustainability and circular design and one of the best way we can stop clothes ending up in landfills is to repair them. In our new series 'omdo | Repair' we want to share with you some basic sewing skills that can you can use to fix your own clothes or use to repair that vintage piece you maybe didn't buy because there was something minor wrong with it (also shopping second hand and vintage is incredibly sustainable!)
