Even though this was done seven years ago, it is still very helpful. Thanks for your patience in putting these so useful videos.

Thank you for taking the time to make and upload these videos. I am sure this would have been a much quicker task had you not taken the time to explain how it worked and what went wrong. It is a beautiful watch, thank you for saving it. I wish Seiko was still making them. I had to search for several months before I was lucky enough to find one for sale that was in good condition. My only criticism about the video is that you repeated your self a lot and I would have liked to see you put the hands back on.

I wonder if their is any 3D printers out there and scanning machine precise enough to recreate wheels within small tolerances to reproduce these scarce parts into the future, thank you for your well explained video 👍

That would be great, but not viable commercially

I have a 7T32 movement in my watch. My friend also has the same watch with symptoms you have described in your video. Do you think there is an opportunity to get some of these plastic parts made on a digital printer?

@@TheTanfieldKid no I don't think so. The material should be identical to have the same flexibility and feeling. Also the dimensions should be identical to work flawlessly

Hi I’m late seeing this but thank you , I have the same problem and currently looking for parts / donor watch. The other problem is the stem will not hold in the time setting position, it just comes away from the movement, date will set but stem doesn’t lock into the second position. Will this be the yoke or setting lever ? Thanks again for your time love the clips . 👏👏

Hi, thanks for your comment. I believe the issue can be resolved by servicing the existing movement, without swapping it. Some parts would need to be changed, but not the whole movement. As per the setting stem, it is much probably the setting lever that has wear where the stem grabs onto it. A replacement part can be found and it is relatively easy to replace. Let me know if you need help.

Thank you very much for your videos. I have a Seiko 7T42 very similar mechanism as the one you are working on. Before I start disassembling could you please let me know possible issues that would cause the watch not to run after replacing the battery. With the new battery I can adjust the position of all the dials that require battery power. However not sure why the dial for "seconds" does not start.

George, I have this watch. I found it laying in a drawer and the band is missing some pins and the clasp is separated. The battery is dead. I think the watch will function if I replace the battery. The band is original Seiko band. Do you think it will be worth it to try and get the band repaired? Or, should I just find a different band? I will make sure the watch functions before I worry too much about the band of course. I live in Republic of Panama so finding parts here locally will be next to impossible. The watch looks to be in fair condition. Someone gave me this watch many years ago and it was lost in a drawer until today.

Unfortunately I cannot help you that much. Here in Europe you still can find replacement parts off of eBay, but in Panama... I do not know. If you can, try to at least make the movement work.

At the time of tthe video, I uses tweezers and a lot of patience to get hte hands back on. Now you can use a hand fitting tol you can find on ebay for cheap

Hello, I have a similar watch with the same movement. I replaced the battery and I shorted AC and +. The chrono and the alarm work but not the rest... Do you know what is the problem? Easy to repair?
@onlyvintagewatches

It can be a coil as well as a mechanical issue, like shown in this very video Without inspecting the watch myself, I cannot be more precise, there are too many things that can go wrong in a quartz watch

A good description and problem diagnosis and resolution, thanks. Yes it would seem the Seiko instructions for rapid date change correctly had not been adhered to, which led to the date change wheel damage. i.e. Not to manually rapidly alter the date between 2200hrs and 0300hrs. Unfortunately after replacing with new parts and checking that the date changed when correctly winding through 24hrs, you both times pushed inwards the crown and proceeded to rapidly change the date nowhere near 3hrs after the 0000hrs date change had occurred, thereby risking the same damage as had originally caused the failure. That is poor demonstration technique, sorry. As someone else may follow suit and not be so lucky as you seem to have been. I hope everything is going well otherwise. Regards. 531Man.

The video was done some 6 years ago... a long time has passed since I made it and I also learned a lot since then. Thanks for pointing the error I made at the time, which has not been done since, yet I cannot delete the video, just hope who sees it has also the good judgment to read comments like yours. Cheers

sir,i have un 7t62 movement in my pulsar and the hands from the alarm are stucked anyway i am trying to set them,nothing happens if i push the buttons(if i hold the watch near my ear it can be heard when i push button b in the first click of the crown that something is turning but the hands just sty fixed) ,but intresting is the fact that after i try to set them, the alarm rings,but still the hands dont move at all,could be because i change the crown whit another one from oris(was the only one that fit in),chronograf functions are working just fine,they reset exactly at zero,thank you

thanks for response,i just change the crown,i dont think i am able to open movement,the original crown was water damage from the black sea in romania,i have this watch for over 7 years,i like it more than my casio rangeman that now stays in the box(whit all his features still i like more my pulsar sahara 7t62).I will try to find un original crown,maybe that solve my problem.One more thing about the pulsar,when i was try to fit the crown the small seconds counter from the main time just fall from his place,i succeded to put him back but since then the alarm hands dont move at all,is there some axel or stem that hold the both needels of alarm?(small seconds counter fall because i was pullig too hard inside to het out the movement from the case)thank you
