Very Helpful! Can’t stress enough to be VERY careful with reassembly of screws. Magnet is very strong and will grab the screw easily. Make sure screw is “set” in driver and be careful

Hi, I replaced the main internal wire in my Beats Solo HD, however I am still hearing a quiet and 'tinny' sound from both sides. Do you know what the issue could be? Is any audio jack cable compatible or does it need to be a beats audio cable? thanks

Hi there Joe! My daughers Solo 3 wireless beats have a short in. It is in the wire running between each side, under the head cushioning. I watched videos on how to solder wire that's been broken, etc. I know exactly were the wire broke. Problem is there's no available slack to resolder it. I was wondering if it's possible to maybe use other wire for some cheap earbuds, etc and make "a bridge". Just the only thing I can think of, without having to completely rewire the entire thing...The patch/bride would be no problem cosmetically since it would be hidden under the head cushion. Any help or advice you can give me would be a god send! She is absolutely heartbroken and I am a single mother so self repairing them is my only option.

Thanks for the comment. Can you confirm what side of the headphones stopped working? Do both sides work with aux cable? -David P

Both sides work. There's 3 wires that run under the head cushioning. Blue red and black. The short is in the the black wire. What happens is if shook or any pressure applied or removed from the hinge, etc. It will power off then back on and blue tooth will re-pair. So they are pretty useless since it will do that with even the slightest vibration.

My only idea besides completely rewiring them is to use another piece of wire to bridge where the black wire is frayed/shorted. I have found the exact spot within a few milimeter where it is shorting. Unfortunately since it has a connector on each end running a new wire is not as easy as resolderin it at both ends.

Sounds like the main internal wire is damaged. We usually replace the entire wire. If you are interested in getting your headphones repaired you can send them to our repair center. We offer free shipping and diagnostics. Here is a link to begin: www.joesge.com/pages/repair-services -David P

Thanks for this video, I'm able to make due with them until I can afford much better headphones. 👍🎧 These things suck ass so bad. I got two of this exact pair - one broke at the hinge within a week, the other's cord volume buttons fell apart, the cord logos fell off. They're so cheaply made. I hate them with a passion.

Thanks for watching! The ear pads on the Solo HD's twist into place and can be held in place more securely by using a small amount of glue on the locking points. Matt D.

@@Joesge is that 3m adhesive ? Im talking about when you twisted the ear pad you can see the black round seems like a thin foam i dont know what it called but that what i want to know..
@Joesge

There is not 3M on this ear pad. The foam on this unit is on the speaker housing and not on the ear pad. The ear pad is put together using a glue to lock it in place.

How do you fix the part that slides back and fourth at 4:38? I almost dropped mine today however, I caught them right before they hit the ground but something overextended inside of it because it's stuck. Now I can no longer adjust the headphones.
