Works great. Thanks so much. I was able to fix some models that I could not drill. Best advice yet, and works great.

I had a run of bad luck on some miniatures last night and used the green stuff trick for fixing it up last night, so thanks for that. I will note I used Milliput, which is just the generic brand of Green Stuff, and it actually hardens harder than Green Stuff.

Another way to fix pewter or in some cases the old lead miniatures from the 80s and early 90s before the pewter replaced the lead. Is to brush on a coat of baking soda onto both pieces then use super glue one one of the pieces then firmly press the 2 broken halves together. Then sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over the seam to fill in the gaps between the 2 pieces. And once theyve dried you can use a small piece of sand paper to smooth out the seam. The glue and baking soda acts as a very strong bond and filler. Thats what we always did when we either assembled or fixed broken miniatures on our D&D games or dioramas. I don't know what this green stuff you talk about is. Never heard of it.

Ahh yes the good old fashioned baking powder, good tip. Green stuff is a popular tools these days, it's an epoxy that you mix and then it goes hard, good for many things including sculpting, I have a few videos on it in the archives

I would just use a 2 part clear epoxy or Testors model putty

2 necron warriors and a necron immortal repaired, what is sad is that it wasnt me but some other member of my family who just didnt care as they saw my minis as a waste of time. I think I will have to take some coercive measures next time something like that happens.

Interesting technique, think that using greenstuff would help with bonding finecast to finecast? My Overlord's warscythe keeps breaking off, also is it preferable to use proper greenstuff to GW's liquid version? I know it'll take longer to set but just wondering about the final bond.

***** Nice video, exactly what I was looking for. I have an Avatars of War Dark Elf Queen Kit, that has bits to fine to drill and pin together. So all I need is a tiny bit of green stuff and glue.

Gah. I have a ridiculous glut of Alien Xenomorphs from the completely unreliable and untrustworthy Prodos Games, and because they're all resin......I just.....I've had them ages but I haven't put them together yet because they're safer unconstructed. I have to get a special container case to keep them all safe and sound. Anyway unfortunately I already know this technique. There's actually something small to add to this one. For a flexible joint, arms, legs, whatever it may be, CRUUUSH the green stuff in with a cocktail stick (putty won't stick to wood, or you can use saliva on your modelling tool as a guaranteed no-stick). Crushing it down just ensures less cavity etc, THEN add glue. For a fixed joint that won't be as exposed, continue as you are. Now I'm off to see if there's any other techniques for the inevitable limb break. I hate resin. Metal was fine. Plastic is best

necrons are a headache for broken parts, i bought a mini drill kit from china for about 25 quid and put staples in all the staffs and arms and stuff that break off, then super glue it together.

Leah Gefes Green Stuff is a two-part modelling putty, GW sell it, but it is pretty expensive from them, eBay is usually your best bet ;)
