Thanks fella. I paid €270 for glasses last week. Bought a nice rimless set. Sat on them, ironically because I couldn't see them. You've just saved me a pretty penny, three days of cursing violently and two weeks of beating myself up about wasting money.

Thanks for the great, clear video - now that i know how they are held together I was able to repair my partner's glasses with a few squeezes of the pliers. (She had sat on them!). Can i add that i recommend jewellers parallel pliers for the squeezing - they push the pieces directly together, and they have smooth jaws too.

Brilliant! Thanks- that's really clear! Having no grommets, one broken pin and wanting to fix mine quick I tried super glue. Just glued the arm on to the remains of the grommet (and probably the glass a bit too). I was careful, and it's an invisible mend, but it's lasted for over a month now! The real issue with mine breaking all the time is that they're knock-offs of the very flexible "Silhouette" style frame design. Without the flexibility in the frame arms there's too much stress on the 8-point fixings and that causes the breakages. I'll only buy really flexible frames for rimless in future. Good job on the new video.

I located the website where you bought the parts but I'm having trouble finding the part numbers that you used. Could you please give me the part numbers of the parts and the part number of the tool that you used to remove the old nose piece? Thank you very much for the great video on how to repair the nose piece.

Hi Art, Thanks for your kind comments. I ordered parts to fix two pairs of rimless glasses from the company: Gun Bridges For Rimless Optical Frame TB-179, which shows as TB-179 on the invoice; and: Memorial Bridge For Optical Frame TB-285 (TB-285). One kit was gold coloured and the other was silver, so best to look for the exact items you need online. The tool I used to cut the grommets and to remove the bridge is actually an archery tool which I happened to have to hand. It's called 'Cartel nock pliers' and can be seen here: thearcheryshop.co.uk/pliers/972-cartel-nock-pliers.html. Dedicated tools for rimless spectacle repairs seem to be more expensive, although they do the same job. All The Best, Tony

1) A pair of narrow nose pliers, onto which I fitted a couple of pieces of shrink-tube to protect the glass; 2) A pair of archery "nock" pliers (you could use any "clippers") to trip the grommets

I need to replace one of the temple arms as well, but Zoye unfortunately doesn't have any for rimless glasses. I can actually get a complete new frame of this type elsewhere (nose bridge, two temple arms, and the lens blanks) for $4-$5 (which is actually a better deal), but Zoye is the only place I found that sells the grommets non-wholesale. Did you find any other places? Also, Zoye's grommets come in two different diameters. Did the ones they enclosed just happen to be the right size for you?
@janetberg9665

Oops! My post accidentally posted before I finished.... I see they gave you 4 grommets--was that for one nose bridge? Or perhaps they sent you 2 of each size? Did they also give you 4 nose pads for the one bridge or did you order additional one?

Hi Janet, No, I didn't find any other supplier at that time (maybe there are more now?). Yes, the gromets were a perfect fit . . . where are you buying complete frames for $4-$5?

I received 4 gromets, all the same size. I suspect they supply double the required number just in case one's first attempt fails (like mine did!)

@@janetberg9665 I forgot to say: I did not order the extra nose pads. Also: The nose pads supplied have been much more successful than the originals - which were always popping-off and getting lost. I have not lost a single nose-pad since doing this repair :-)

Thanks HeavyLander! I have EXACTLY the same glasses--also with a broken nosepiece...:-).... The Zoye ones actually look better made than the ones I have. Is it safe to give Zoye my credit card number? Or do you use PayPal? Where do you get the covers for your plier tips (I'm a goldsmith)?

How do you establish the rules that are installed on the nose where you feel vibration, knowing that the screws are tight? What is the solution ???????????
@TonyMahlony

There are no screws in the nose bridge of this type of spex. If it's loose, then the grommets need either compressing or replacing. Hope this helps, Tony
