I had a flipper that would stick up, and if i turned off the machine it would drop. Read all the forums but had an issue i didn't read anywhere: the contact points on the action button for the flipper was cracked and they would occassionally stick to each other. By the way, awesome video, thorough and to the point, thanks!

This is a great video as I am new to em machines. I have an oxo like the one in your video. I am partially restoring it and it would be great if you could send a video and as many pictures you can of it. Yours seems to be in great shape.

This is awesome! Thanks so much. You mentioned cleaning the contacts on the switches, in another video you used 600 grit sandpaper. Is there ever a need to use an aerosal electronic contact cleaner? Thanks

You can use contact cleaner, but a light abrasive, even something like a business card, can also clean the contacts. I think 600+, maybe 800+ sandpaper works best

I am saving this video for sure. Is there a way to reach out to you more directly? Im trying to fix the flipper that keeps sticking on a Star wars premium pinball machine

Great vid. What is the likely issue if when the ball hits a non pressed flipper the flipper dips a bit? It’s a modern stern.

I know you can activate the flippers (or any coil) by grounding the coil. So in you TOM example most right (red) is power and you should ground the two left to check right?

The right flipper on my 1978 Williams Phoenix recently started to have issues. When the flipper button is hit there is a brief delay before the flipper goes up and it also only goes up slowly once it goes up. I haven’t seen anyone troubleshoot a similar looking flipper issue and I’m not sure if I need to replace the coil. I haven’t replaced anything yet but am inclined to just do a whole new assembly to cover everything so I don’t have to keep reworking it.

Sounds like a dirty coil sleeve

@@bayonnebulldogs8548 inspect all the wires connected to the flipper assembly before making any repairs. I just fixed my clipper and turns out for me it was a very simple issue. One of the wires came out so I didn’t even need to remove any hardware and just stripped and soldered on the wire back in place. Now flipper works normally! :)

@@matthewmorton7386 I ended up buying not just sleeve but entire flipper assembly parts including coil. Turns out it was just a wire that broke off! 😅 I know people keep saying check the wires first. I should have done a better inspection before getting the parts but at least I have them if I ever need them in the future. Sometimes the solution is pretty easy even for an amateur like me.
