Awsome video. I still cant get the damn lines off even with the tool. Gunna have to take it to a buddies who has a lift and see if i can get some better leverage standing up instead of laying down.

NO , they need frontal lobotomy!!!! Any of these people that design all these new vehicles need to have to work on "their better ideas" AND mean ALL brands of vehicles not just ford's. I kick myself for trading off my 1985 f150 for this piece of metal !

I bought that tool you recommended I had to use that today on the connection closest to the The engine but the other line on the other side on my truck was just a little plastic clip you could push up with your fingers to disconnect the line and that tool wouldn't have worked on that side. Not sure why mine is like that. I have a 2003 f150 7700 with the 5.4. also the big metal clip you pushed down on I only have one of those to and it was on the line closest to the engine

Good idea to pull the fuel pump relay fuse and relieve the fuel pressure by cranking it until it stalls, then a few more cranks.. didn't hear that mentioned at all

I noticed in some videos that the the fuel line pressure is not released before disconnecting the fuel filter,is that step not necessary ?

It’s better to release the fuel pressure if you don’t you make way more of a mess

It's pretty standard to pull the fuel pump relay fuse and release the fuel pressure by running until it stalls, then a few more cranks to drain to just a trickle.. otherwise will be fighting the pressure, plus the quick connects..which are not much fun all by themselves...

Is there no real depressurization process? I changed one out in my 89 gmc jimmy in the parking lot years as go without de -pressurizing it worked fine no explosion, but ive heard people say something about doing it to a 98 f150. Is that true? And if so could i just open the gas cap instead of doing weird under the hood fuel pressurizing crap?

Didn't hear anything about reducing the fuel pressure on a hot engine? One manual said disconnect power to the pump and run your engine to dissipate all fuel pressure. You could also go to the fuse box and some have pulled the fuse. This video totally ignores this crucial issue. I've had the honor of being under a truck that did not have the pressure bled off. Got gas in my ear and face. Not something I will ever forget. That happened on a hot engine that had not sat for awhile. Seems as though the pressure bleeds off the longer the truck sits after running, but to be safe, I'd talk about bleeding off the pressure.

Well isn’t that about a bitch lol, my fuel filter lines don’t have as near as much space that yours has! The same tool you are using I used and it gets stuck in the the circular middle mold! Any idea why I have such little space to fit the tool? I can’t seem to tug back on it to get that 1/4 inch space, it’ll only move forward once in a great while and stuck in place the others...
@KalleSWBeck

True, had the 5/16 but my lines were closer to the filter than yours. So no way I could use the metal. But just got mine on today. Used the plastic yellow 5/16, sanded it down plus used pb blaster and bam

Who designed this why not keep things simple --2 clamps and simple rubber hoses like just a few years ago.
@KalleSWBeck

Those rubber lines fail over time and don’t hold up to the high pressure needed for modern fuel injection. My Chevy has a much simpler design though
