Great video. From replacing the fuel pump yesterday on mine I found a new way to get off those lines. Those two small lines you used the tool on can be removed by just pushing in on the hose (toward the filter), then while doing that push in on the orange clips with your finger, then just pull the hose off. No tool needed! Seen several of your videos, always quality stuff.

Great video. I changed the fuel filter on my 99 Ranger yesterday. The only problem I had was that the auto parts store gave me the wrong filter. When I thought I had it installed correctly and tried to start the truck, I had gas pouring out all over my driveway. Several attempts later I notice that the filter line was slightly smaller that the old one that I had removed. Once I got the correct filter it literally took less than a minute to install. thanks for the video. Keep making these videos.

you made that look way to easy. Every time I work on my truck there is always some thing that does not want to cooperate. I changed out the coolant housing. It has two coolant sensors. Pull the clip out, pull out the old sensors, drop in the new and put the clip back in. Sounds simple, First off they sold me the wrong sensors. I tried to put the old one's back in. The two little clips Refused to go back in. After four hours of praying to swearing I said to the hell with it and used paper clips. So far it is working with no leaks. Had I gone to the Ford dealership and got the OEM parts I may have gotten the right parts and not have had to go through this torture.

I was unaware there was a tool for these lines. Was replacing my fuel filter on my 07 Focus a few months ago, ended up breaking one of the clips (the ones they include with the filter don't fit and you have to shave them down). If you ever need to replace one of the clips with a new one, go to the store and look inside the boxes of the fuel filters, I cannot remember the company that makes it, but one of them has the line clips and they're a perfect fit. You can order them online, or just spend an extra $10 to get 2 clips instead of having to wait on shipping or have to replace the whole line.

I replaced my fuel filter last month. I did it according to what the manual said...sort of. Take off gas cap. Park on hill with engine pointing uphill. I drive with the tank mostly full all the time since I have lots of kids. Negative wire off the battery. I had bought the cheap plastic disconnector tool set. If you live in a place where they salt heavily those don't work. The filter was rusted in and, the plastic broke. For some reason there is a clip near the fuel lines. I clipped them up to keep from getting gas everywhere. There's a hole in the wheel well I use for the same reason to hang the brake line when changing calipers. (Don't ask. Just picture a couple of my sons taking the car one night while I was sleeping after seeing Fast and Furious. I almost killed them the next morning. ) I borrowed a scissor disconnector from a friend. Filter was off in three seconds. If you live some place they salt heavily make sure to check for other stuff while you're down there. I found some things that needed repair from rust while I was working. I don't go under too often since the neighborhood idiots always stop by with moronic comments about women or like to skid by to blow road dust in my face while I have my shoes poking out from underneath.

Good video....but the tubes on the INLET-side are QUICK DISCONNECT. Thus, you do not need a BANJO tool for that (as shown). Just press firmly on the colored 'stripe' and it will pop-off. I used a flat-tip screwdriver to press with on mine. Now, on my 2003 Explorer SPORT (the 2-dr Explorer), a Banjo tool was indeed required required on the output. Mine looked different than yours. Fuel Filters, such a little inexpensive thing - and so much trouble if they get clogged! In the last 33 years, I was only stuck twice! Once, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike with the car going slower and slower, the more gas I gave it, the more it wanted to stall. That was a costly repair, including towing. Figured it would never happen again, but it did, on a used car, on the way home from the lot. I managed to get to an auto parts store, had to change it in the parking lot! Now, I change them on every used vehicle I buy, and then about every other year regardless of symptoms.

Chris, it's me again with yet another question. I've been told I have a possible fuel system issue and here's what's been going on. My ranger starts up with no delay in the morning but if I go somewhere and come back to turn the truck back on (while its still warm) it seems to lag alot, sometimes cranking for 5 seconds before turning over. I've been told it may be a fuel pump issue but I wanted to see if you might have any input. Maybe the fuel filter is getting clogged? I just got the truck a month ago (128k) and not sure what's been replaced. I appreciate your videos and they've been my number 1 source of information for my newly found desire to learn about my truck. Thanks!

hay Chris do you think you could do a video on changing transmission fluid. I have an 02 doge neon that has been sitting for at least 4 years now if not more and it has 147,000 miles and I wanted to change EVERYTHING on it. I found your power steering pump drain really helpful along with all of your other videos but haven't seen a transmission video yet. thanks for making great videos and keep up the amazing work man.😀😀😀😀
