Thank you so much for this video! My 2011 Ninja 650R (ER-6f) burns its stator every year. I've replaced the rectifier twice to no effect. I've found an aftermarket stator and will replace it myself.

I should say change the stator 1st and see what the rectifier does the job of a rectifier is to convert AC into DC and also regulates how much current is send to the battery 🔋

I’m trying to replace my battery for the first time on my Ninja. Any tips?
@rbon2wheels
2 жыл бұрын
Replacing the battery is easy fellow the steps below. DISCONECTING BATTERY. 1. Take off both rider and passenger seat. 2.Take of the bracket that holds the battery 4. Disconnect the NEGATIVE port and make sure it doesn't touch in metal 5. Disconnect the POSITIVE port and then pull out the battery. PUTTING BATTERY BACK. 1. Connect the POSITIVE port 2. Connect the NEGATIVE port. 3. Put back the bracket 4. Put back the seats. Good luck

hey man, how many kilometers do you on your bike? Mine is 2013 and has 54K miles. What problems were you experiencing that caused the stator to go bad? My bike died on me while riding on the highway on my way home. At first I noticed my battery light came then a few minutes later, the bike stop running. My bike has the original battery, so i'm not sure if the batttey is bad or the stator. I appreciate your help.

I have 35k,the problem i was getting was ,my battery was being drained so fast and the charging sytem was not working. The only to know that u need to replace the stater is when u get the battery indicator light on and also u can do a test by using a multimeter. When u connect that multimeter and rev the bike to up 5krpm u should get a voltage reading of 14.5 and if u don't get that,that means you battery is not being charged and that could be a bad stater or rectifer but most times its the stater because its the one which provide current(AC) to the rectifier to be converted into DC in order to charge the battery. Hope this helps.
@rbon2wheels

Since your bike died while riding and the battery light popped on,u should 1st charge the battery and make sure its about 12 or 13 volts then use a multimeter and turn the bike to on position but don't start it, u will a drop in voltage not below 12 volts if it goes below 12 volts,that means your battery is dead and u need a new one but if it does drop below 12 volts now u got to step 2,which rev the bike 5k rpm while the multimeter is still connected to the battery and if u don't get 14 volts,that means you charging system is not doing its job.
