How do you tell if the damper is bad to begin with? I have a Samsung with a drum that shakes so badly during spin-up that it dented the rear panel. I have everything disassembled and the shocks SEEM fine, but it only takes a couple pounds of force to compress or extend them. How stiff are the shocks supposed to be?

Hi, I have a Bosch Classic Maxx. It appears that the damper is built into the drum housing assembly, which involves breaking the two halves of the outer shell! Can you recommend any additional tips for changing these? Also, is gas or liquid used for damping in these components? I can't see any liquid leaks, but just thought I'd ask so other people might find this question of use. thx for the great site.

The shock absorbers have grease in them to aid the movement when the tub is moving, this is not an easy repair so make sure the shock absorbers do need replacing. The kit that is supplied by bosch requires you to drill the pin with limited access and people have used a hacksaw to cut the pins first.

Hi guys, I tested my heater and the thermistor in my LG washer model WM3370HWA. Remember that Im 120 over here in us, not 240 so my reading will be different than the UK. The heater element is at 14.5 hms and contin is o14 the thermistor tested at 200k ohms with a reading of 053. i performed the calculations for my usa washer with an ohm app. so i plugged in the volts 120, not 240 and watts of 1000 and got 8.5 amps and 14.5 ohms for the heater element. does all of this sound like anything familiar, from what i can grasp the heater element is still good, but what about the thermistor? is this a functional reading, yes, no, maybe so? Appreciate your consultation, and I understand that since you don't have access to the machine, all you can do is guestimate. Thank you, Robert

Why not _knock_ the peg out - saves scratching it with the pliers?

You need more access to knock it - not always practical, you smart-arse!
