I have a compressor replacement job going on my Ram 2500 V10 and came across a connector I hadn't seen before, you covered the type of connector and how to uncouple it which saved me a bunch of frustration! Haha! Your coverage about the oiling up of a new unit was also key with me going forward with my work, thanks a bunch for sharing!

Great video. Thank you for showing that electrical connector. I couldn’t get close enough o see how it came apart. What a pain!! After you showed how it comes apart i was able to get it but it was still very difficult. You didn’t specify if that red tab locks it in but it seems it did not move until i slid that red tab to its opposite side, which your video showed how it was to the one side, opposite of where mine was when I couldn’t get it apart. But great video, the more details the better. Thanks.

Thanks. The adapter had the red slide on it but I think my truck was either missing the red clip or the harness didn’t have it or I couldn’t see it because of the greasy connector. I don’t remember seeing that on the truck. That’s probably why I don’t mention it in the video. I agree with you the more details the better.

It’s a Banks kit. It came with a lot of different parts for the engine including turbo charger parts, intake parts, injection pump parts, exhaust parts and boost and temperature gage. I think this is the kit we used. It added a lot of power to the truck. official.bankspower.com/magazine/combo-plate-banks-new-cummins-12-valve-power-package/

Hello, do you know if the 1995 Cummins has the wire connection, I took my compressor off but didn’t see no connector on the compressor? But did see some wire hanging from the truck. ???
@TheUltimateHandymanKyle
Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure but there should be some type of wire connection that goes to the compressor because it needs some type of electrical input to turn it on and off. I just looked up a compressor for that year and it has a wire with connector coming out of it.

Hey there I was wondering if I could just leave the oil that comes from the factory and install the compressor then just leave the plug uninstalled until I take it to a shop to get vacuumed out and proper oil installed and also get my refrigerant at the same time? Or would that wreck the compressor?
@TheUltimateHandymanKyle

It should be ok don’t run the AC until it’s all done. You can just do everything I did in the video then take it to a shop to have it vacuumed and filled

The way he adds oil. It works typically compressors come prefilled with oil and you have to nitrogen flush the whole ac system and replace the dryer. Or check way that half ass works is using compressed air I just watched this video to get an idea on how much of a bitch this job was gonna be
@TheUltimateHandymanKyle

I was told I probably should have replaced all the components in the system but I went the cheapest route just doing the compressor. It still works great to this day.
