Well done concise instructional video. Thanks for no weird intro graphics and music. BTW, I make it a point to always use GM replacement parts on my Chevy trucks. It's worth the few extra dollars.

I already knew where it’s located and how to change it- I was mostly after the nut driver size and you covered that too , 5/16-perfect- so I don’t have to make trips back to the tool box to find the right one. Thanks!

I had a K&N 2 trucks ago- 2002 Silverado. I talked to a buddy and he said a mechanic friend told him- Get that thing outta there! Yes it increases air flow and mileage but it also can let microscopic particulates thru and into the intake and fuel injection systems. I dunno, but to me, the negligible performance and mileage increase aren’t worth the risk. I just change my standard filters every 15,000 miles, with a good Fram or Wix filter. They’ve always worked fine

Had a '93 Silverado that I put a K&N filter in it. Throttle body would suck the oil out of the filter. Went back to a regular filter

Sure, using impacts have their place, but for 4 small screws into plastic just use a hand tool. Impacting from start to hammer time thru plastic will bite you one day. Take that to the bank, especially if it belongs to you.

Can you clean it with water and put it back in?? Or do you just need to buy a new one

The K&Ns are cleanable. Soap and water and just basically flush everything out, let it dry then reoil it.

If it’s your first time doing it, and you wanna do it right, wouldn’t you want some degree of guidance? Everyone had to learn from someone, right!?

Some but not all. Remember, 50 years ago owners manuals showed how to adjust the valves. Now there is a warning not to drink the liquid in the battery.
