Thank you for this helpful video! I really appreciate when other SPA XC90 owners make videos like this. It gives me the confidence & knowledge to go and do it myself!

You welcome. maintenance cost for this kind of car is arms and leg. If you do it yourself you will save a lot.

Thanks for the video, help me out a lot! Not sure which 2016 model you have but mine actually needed the 11mm Hex on the calliper - you mention 10mm.

Soon I will make another video to show you how to take the grease off the keyboard!!! Lol thanks for watching.

The most annoying part of this job is that the caliper slider bolts use an 11mm hex which is difficult to source. A 7/16 hex will work though and easier to find. Good luck!

The reason you couldn't fit the disc locator screw is the discs are sided and you fitted the discs to the wrong sides. think how the wheel rotates the groove should be pushing the pad away from the centre of the wheel - you will likely end up with judder and/or pad squeal from this mistake.

I’m flashing the brake fluid soon. I will swap the rotors to see if the screw hole lines up. Thanks. I have been driving the car over two years. Didn’t notice anything odd.

@@BengalTiger It shouldn't make much difference unless the centre cooling vents are sided. If they are not angled then you'll get away with it.

6:04 - did that retainer screw really come out that easy? I'm used to them being borderline welded in place!

Yes flat head screw driver will come to the rescue. After applying heat I used screw driver and a hammer to take the bad boy out. Good luck and with most of after market rotors you don’t have to put that screw. Thanks for watching.

Why does everyone make it look so easy to push the pistons back in.

Some time it’s little easy if you take the cap off from the reservoir. But make sure to clean the surface of the reservoir so no dirt goes in to brake fluid

Great video. But it baffles me on the lack of safety measures you take. I cant believe you are relying on a cheap scissor jack to to hold the car up while you work on it. Also noticed you said you do not need to screw in the T-bolt to secure the rotor to the bearing assembly. Instead you inserted some lugs to hold it on. All you had to do was rotate the rotor and the hole would have lined up. I think you just assumed it wasnt needed cause you didnt see a hole. Also spraying Brake cleaner on your hands and breathing it in a closed area is extremely toxic. Doing so often will result in adverse health conditions. Happened to my brother in-law. Just sayin.

Thanks for watching the video. I’m very careful on lifting the car up since I don’t have access to a lift. You probably didn’t see that I have another jack right next to the scissor jack.

I did tried to lined it up but the hole didn’t line up. I have been using the car almost 2 years now. I didn’t feel any differences. But thanks and next rotor I will definitely try to put the screw back on just to feel little more comfortable
