Where the hell was this video over a year ago lol, thank you sir nice job explaining and showing this easy yet very tedious job.. I did my rear door and it was a nightmare, now of course drivers door is broken, seems like an actuators breaks every year on different doors..

I just did this job. Your video was very helpful especially the pointers on the white plastic piece and changing the actuator. I used a 1/4 inch socket with a Phillips bit and 3/8 inch ratchet to get the door lock screws out. I watched another video on the door panel removal. It took 3 hours.. thank you for the great video

Thank you for posting. Everything fell apart and wasn't sure what went where. Your video helped save me time. This was my second replacement. The rear driver went out last year and the rear passenger went out a few months ago. So much cheaper to DYI. And I'm the least mechanical Asian guy out there. Cheers.

Thank you so much for the video. It really helps. Only one thing is after replacing the actuator, the problem still persist. I cannot lock and unlock the door using master button or remote control. Does it matter to put the actuator at the correct position? Is there any way we can test the actuator? I doubt that the new one that I bought from Amazaon does not work. Anyway we can test the actuator if it works? Thank you.
@RenegadeJD

Bryan Nguyen glad you found the video helpful. I test the actuator while plugged in. There is a white nipple that turns when activated. If it doesn't work, then you'd have to see if power is getting to the plug to determine if it is the actuator or something else.

Thanks for your reply. I dont know how to test if power got to the plug. I use the multi meter to test but it wont help much as the multi meter wont read it value .The nipple wont turn when I tried to lock the door. I dont know what else I could try.

Only thing I can think of, is search for videos, join facebook.com/groups/hondapilotowners/ or facebook.com/groups/876981625731136/ and one other good group facebook.com/groups/247350902041554/ best of luck. This video is GREAT. The quality of it makes you want to scream "use a Go-Pro" but what he shows us here and how patient he is with this is invaluable. I've looked all over the web and there is not another video out there that will show you all the tricks of replacing these door lock actuators like this one. The video is all over the place with being shaky and things like that, but he is right on the money on how to get the parts in and out and all the little clips and links that need to go together just right. Bear with this guy and he will help you get your part switched perfectly. The rear doors are much harder than the front doors, because there are child safety locks built into the mechanism of the rear doors, plus the stupid window track is one piece, plus there is less room in the rear doors. Plus, this dude does most of this one handed while taking the video with the other hand. I had a hard enough time using 2 hands. WELL Done Dude!

I replaced the tailgate door actuator yesterday and it was much simpler. I found the actuator for the tailgate for only $21.99 at Autozone, part DLA254. No way I could have made a video without someone helping out. Now that I've seen your video I think I can tackle the other door that's not working. Thanks again.

Jesse Purcell I'm not sure if I can tell you how. I'd have to show you, but I'm not looking to tear down the door anytime soon. So, I found a video for the next gen mdx. The 03-08 pilot is harder to access than the mdx in this video I'm going to share, but it's basically the same concept. Skip to 2:20 to see what you need. I used a big joe flat head screwdriver. About 14" long, wide beefy. Just get something stout maneuvered in there to snap that clip back. Sorry I can't give a video of how I do it but I hope this helps. kzitem.info/news/bejne/mGOtn6F6aoiFpWU
