@@icrashucrash9585 It is possible to twist the fuel line if there's lots of rust. Make sure to use a good penetrant, not WD40. Try PB Blaster or make your own with 50% ATF and 50% acetone. Let it soak, and then repeat. You might have to do it for a few days before you get that flare nut loose. Once you get it loose, move that nut back and forth a little until the threads feel smooth, then undo it some more and repeat. Don't power through removing that flare nut the first time or else the rust will strip the threads!!!

Could I hook a pump on the safety clip side of filter and slowly drain the gas tank ?
@2carpros

You could do it that way. But I must warn you that unless a pump is certified to do so it can technically cause a spark. If you need to drain the tank it is easier to take the filler neck off and do it that way. I did a while video on replacing the fuel pump on one of these and I show how to do it there. Thanks for watching!
@chrismechanic6164

Word of warning. This truck is very rust free. On trucks that have been exposed to a lot of road salt you need to handle that filter mounting brkt. very carefully if the return lines above are rusty. This can turn into a real nightmare and customer may blame you for damage to the lines. I will often carefully cut or chisel the bracket above the bolt hole so it will still hold the filter in place and still contain the lines. To much movement may cause the lines to start leaking and if the customer is not informed AND SHOWN the possibility of this happening, you may get blamed for causing a leak and have a bigger problem on your hands. I even refused a job once where the customer wasn't grasping the situation and thought I was trying to set them up for a ripoff wanting to get more money for a bigger job if I damaged the rusty lines. Believe me, the last thing I wanted was to have to replace those lines, money or not. That job sucks. If careful inspection reveals that those lines are already leaking immediately inform the customer before touching the filter and unless the truck belongs to you, you may want to pass on it because replacing the lines properly is major work . Good informative video by the way.
