That electric connection metal wire just need to push in a bit and you are able to disconnect it! (And you will not loose it)

I wasn't sure how to release the fuel lines and everything's so fragile. It worked like a charm thanks for your well explained video. To remove the top without a special tool I wrapped an old drive belt around it and clamped it tight with a vice grips. It gave enough leverage to unscrew it without breaking anything

Cheaper way, buy the Filter Housing tool. Remove the Housing, mark position on cap and housing to line up after replacing filter. Place housing in the Tool and unscrew the cap using Stilson of oil filter removal chain. Change filter then refit cap, line up the marks you made on Cap & Housing.

It's people that over tighten the body trying to remove the ring making it oval , vauxhall fitted a very similar filter housing that similar it's the same paper filter, never heard of much problem with that filter housing

When removing filter from housing after the housing has been previously over tightened the o ring becomes oval and will not seal. I have ordered a new filter (not housing) that comes with new o ring so hoping this will stop leak

You're absolutely right there. My first filter housing leaked even after replacing seal. Second one leaked from fuel temperature sensor on the lid, that's why I had to replace it again 😞.

Hi New filter and o ring fitted with no leaks. My method was as follows. first hand tighten filter nut. Then mark housing, top and nut for reference. Now remove nut and smear inside of nut and outside of lid where they will connect with a little petroleum jelly, only a smear. Now tighten until all lines are aligned then with the filter protected from a hard floor ( i used a bit of carpet) I then held it down and tapped around on one of the ridges on the plastic nut with a small cold chisel until the line on the nut had passed the other markings by about 1.5 inches. Seems to have worked

Hi there, followed the steps, but my van is now stalling after starting the engine. Do you have any advice? Really hope I don't need to take it to a garage!
@mrfxr1695
2 жыл бұрын
Did you purge the air from the filter. You have to do it by running ignition on for 10 secs and than off and repeat few times as explained. By doing that electric fuel pump forces fuel through the system and pushes the air back to the fuel tank through return hose, you should not start engine during this process. Even if you have started engine after few stalls should be fine. Also did you checked all connections, it is not drawings air in through bad connection somewhere?
@joesnow739
2 жыл бұрын
@@mrfxr1695 thanks for your reply. I repeated the first process a few times, still kept stalling. Checked connections everything looked fine, then primed one last time and decided to pump the accelerator a little whilst turning the engine on and it seems to of done the trick for now. Would that of helped force the air through the system? Cheers.
