Fantastic video! Perfect run-through that includes everything you need to do. Thanks also for the tip on the rocker cover vent - I'll be implementing that also, as my intercooler was a bit oiled up. Love your work. Gold!

How do you clean your intercooler? Got mine off to do the manifold, which I used petrol for, but don't want to knacker up the plastic or sensors in the intercooler. Plus disposing of petrol properly is proving to be a right pain

Where any of the tips cracked off? Did you have any trouble getting them out of the head? Little concerned to do mine they where replace 240,000km ago in 2015. (Edit) got them done yesterday with no problems thank God. The person that replaced them in 2015 used anti seized and the tips where all still on them. Good luck to those looking to do this job. This is probably the one of the best videos out there on how to do it on a kzj95.

behind the glow looks a little wet.. did you spray that area to help loosen the thread? is it better to try this when engine is warm?

Hi Christiaan Good question firstly they had been in the car for about 120000 km and I've always been told it's a good thing to change at about 100000 but the main reason is it started to take longer to start when it was cold and it would miss a little bit on startup.

Another thing, that the glow plug light up on the dash for only 2 seconds and turns off! I think that Is too short time, i don't know..! Is there a relay for it and where can I locate it on the car? Thanks heaps
@vinceyreay

The dash 'Glow' indicator has it's own timer, completely independent to the actual Glows themselves that are governed by the temperature of the engine.......the 1KZTE also doesn't operate on a 2-stage system, they receive a constant 12v for 2 minutes from cold, which is reduced in time as the engine warms to a fully warm start of around 2 seconds - my dash indication hasn't worked in 8 years without causing issue to starting.

@6:46 he clarifies that he hasn't actually got a catch can, but is venting the rocker/cam cover......a catch can could/should be fitted inline there (cam cover breather), but just to clarify NEVER in the boost pipes that are between the turbo/intercooler/intake.

@@vinceyreay I just have a hose going down to just above the sump guard so it vents atmospherically.
