This one was fun to watch. As for the comments, being that it was cold/winter, the better idea to avoid cracking or breaking anything plastic, (if fan isn't spinning), use a heat gun or hair blower to heat up those plastic trees/area to as to soften them PLUS, using the proper tree remover tool. The piece that broke is easy to repair with black plastic Epoxy. I'm watching these videos because we purchased a very new 2015 Town and Country and when I attempted to check to replace the cabin filter, a bunch of leaf debris fell into fan chamber. After clearing that filter out, now the fan makes a little annoying noise, due to perhaps leaf pieces being tapped as fan spins. I was originally going to vacuum it out with small tubing to reach in there. But then I got thinking that the blower motor could be cleaned easier by dropping it down. Had fun. cheers..

Thanks J.P.! Yep, my fault for breaking the tab for sure. I must have been a little too aggressive and didn't realize how cold it really was. (Outside temp probably was in the -25c or -13 F although it might have had a chance to warm up in my garage a bit. It is interesting the 2010 STX didn't have a cabin filter. Aa for your 2015, it is now at least 7 years old, so fan bearing might be wore or a bit dry. Take care for now! (I do have a video of this fan swap on a 2015 Grand Caravan as well.

@@EricJJ why 98%..? I mean, after I cleaned it out, there's no noise coming from the fan. Before, I had a noise of some leaf where the fan was flapping a piece of leaf. Completely quiet after I removed all debris and re-installed it.

Your video good for locating the fasten points. If it run and causing noise, defenatly the bearing. The bearing getting old so it worn out plus heat and cold vapofized lluricant. Re lubrication is temprily cure. Fan built for life time, when it go wrong change out. If you work your own labor is fine. Nowadays some handy power tool on market to use for confined place. Your time for making this video for public is valuable.

Thanks for the video! Very nice. My blower motor has a high pitched electric sound coming from it. I have already replaced the resistor to no avail. Aaron, I recently did a fan motor on my boss's 2012 caravan. It had a horrible screech to it. It is nice and quiet now! I saved his old motor which I might try to tear apart and lube properly, if possible. Probably will be a project and video for winter /January 2022...

Good evening sir hope your day is going well! I have a vehicle (2003 DODGE CARAVAN SE) and im trying to apply a diagnostic test but im not comprehending it if there is any way that you can help me out with it i will greatly appreciate it very much. Here is the test i am referring to down below sir. Check for continuity between each of the blower motor switch input terminals of the blower motor resistor and the resistor output terminal. In each case there should be continuity. If OK, repair the instrument panel wire harness circuits between the blower motor switch and the blower motor resistor or the blower motor pigtail wires as required. If not OK, replace the faulty blower motor resistor.

Tx. One more thing. This van is a friends down the street who is 80+, I'm trying to help. When I pulled fuse box cover somebody had run a wire into the 40 amp a/c fuse to one of the resistors tying in a 15 amp fuse! What's that about? I pulled it out. Gonna check the resistor for current see if it's getting that far.

I still have cold air blowing fine in the back, but no air at all up front. It makes a flapping noise for a few seconds when I turn on the air, then nada. Does that still sound like it could be this blower motor? (08 grand caravan)
@unclemarksdiyauto

Front is a different motor. Could be the motor, the fuse, the switch, a computer going crazy and not sending the single from the switch. Do you have a good mechanic that could look at it for cheap?
@lorifultzvanbeek2676

Sounds like it could be an acuator. I have a 2010 town and country and have to replace 2 already. If it is an actuator, I highly suggest you spend the money and buy one from Mopar. The ones from the auto store do not last long.

jack peterson, now it gets complicating! Off the top of my head, not sure what is next step. You have not replaced the fan switch (& don't-its probably not that either) Everything is run off of a CanBus system. Something may not be able to "talk" to whatever supplies power on / off to the blower. Also, I believe they use pulse width modulation PWM to control the speed of the fan. I don't have any manuals on this van. I Will think about it...

These Chrysler vans are not as well made as the Japanese stuff, I'll agree. That said, they are far less expensive both in initial purchase price and in parts and service. Moreover, they are easy to work on. I have two ten+ years old. They each have over 350K kms on them. They do combined over 2K kms a week. They run fine but you need to keep after them.
