@@SquarebodyStuff When I turn on my defrost in my ‘84, the air also comes out of the vents & the heater at the bottom. I’m hoping that replacing the control panel like you did will remedy this!!

The lines on the back are all together in one cluster. Should be a couple of little metal retainer clips to hold the cluster in place.

I just discoverd on my 83 silverado k20. In the cowl under the wiper blades on the passenger side there is another vacuum canister with a vacuum line that shuts off the air supply from the cowl for whatever reason. It has a large flapper door sort of shaped like a hockey stick.

Let me ask a quick question... Is it possible to move the hvac controls down to where the stereo goes? Just curious... Thought about that so I could add a touch screen stereo above that. Any thoughts or ideas?

Not sure of the actual name, but I don't thinks it's something you can get at a parts store. Your best bet is a salvage yard to get a replacement

My heat and air is blowing on the floor only. All doors are open. I took it all apart last year and it did fine. My brake booster went out. I had it repaired and it worked fine. When winter came and I switched it from air to heat, it went back out again. Do you think I need to pull it apart again and see if the hoses came loose? Also, what is the name of the connector with all of the vacuum hoses attached to it? Thanks

Question: I have a 1977 dulely 1 ton pickup and the heater won't shut all the way off. It will turn up to med and high and low but stays on low when I put it into off position. Any tips on this issue would be appreciated it's getting hot out and I think I lost 5 pounds driving it the other day even with windows down lol I did switch out the whole selector controls but same problem still. Thanks

The early trucks are designed to have the blower motor on all the time. GM thought they sealed poorly so they created a positive pressure in the cab VIA the blower motor. I just unplug the blower motor when I don’t need the heat or AC.
@michaelbenardo5695
Жыл бұрын
@@dirtyski1114 The GM cars of that era had the same setup - couldn't turn the blower off. Many people wired in a toggle switch so that it could be turned off completely.

Should go from behind the carb on the intake to the vacuum reservoir (black ball looking thing) on the cowl, then through the firewall
