The rear quarter belt molding that you are painting are the ones that cause the most damage and need to be replaced at the same time.

How has this held up so far for your father-in-law? The debate in the forums seems to be these Amazon ones vs OEM and usual quality etc.?

For $35, they work. Better than $400 new set. I think the biggest issue is getting them to snap in and tuck under the metal tabs. Once they clip, they won’t back out. I assume most people can’t get it to snap in.

@@TunerwithKids Thank you so much for your quick reply! Wondering if maybe using some epoxy or a strong sealant could do the trick. Or just throw on some extra 3M double-sided tape to help with holding it in place. Love the videos, please keep them coming!

@raddy21 none of that works. The mechanical clipping in of the tabs is the best way to hold it.

Yea. This and the 2IS both have issues but no aftermarket support. Most 2000s Toyota have aftermarket replacements for these.

For IS300, no aftermarket options. OEM for $240/set.
