This video shows you how to install an outer tie rod on your 2005-2007 Ford 500. Outer tie rods, sometimes referred to as “tie rod ends,” connect the steering rack to the steering knuckle. Their joints can wear out over time, causing loose steering, vibrations, and uneven tire wear. They are also a common failure point in localities with safety inspections.
This repair was done on a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL 3.0L Sedan 4-Door AWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
