I consider myself an impromptu "KZitem mechanic" on our personal vehicles purely for cost savings. So I've seen quite a few auto repair DIY's on here. I have to say your filming style, patience, and clarity when doing this was awesome. Didn't feel like you skipped a single detail. Helped me fix my sister-in-law's Durango in a jiffy. Thank you, sir!

Only 4 minutes in and I liked and subscribed. So far this tutorial has the perfect balance of the step by step clear visuals. No heavy background noise and not any unnecessary jibber jabber about anything other than the process. Thank you for this. 2006 slt 4wd hemi. 110,000.00 mls. Straight pipe. Would appreciate any advice regarding the main ground strap that runs behind engine near the center of firewall to the lower chassis on driver side. Mine was heavily corroded and I don’t have a lift so just from crawling under was unable to locate the higher side. But I temporarily pigtailed a 10 gauge stranded copper wire from the breaking point ( about half way) back to the chassis after thorough sanding and cleaning of the area as to give good connection. Live in ny. So salt rust standards. God bless in the new year everyone 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻

I've gotta do this today. Alternator died on the way home from work last night. I found a few alternators at the pull and save near me. Im probably gonna take the old alternator with me to make sure the plug is the same so i don't have to Frankenstein it like yours lol

This video saved my ass when my alternator died during a 1,000 trip on a Saturday afternoon. Stopped at the local Autozone for the part and replaced the alternator in the parking lot using this video as a guide. Thank you!

Thanks for the help, do you have oil blowing through the hose on air box, my filter was covered with oil
@s33therfan

yes, and it is common on all of these . The only solutions that I know of are , people installing a catch can some where in the line of the breather tube. I believe they have several videos on installing them. Thank you very much for watching.

Great video. The only thing that tripped me up was the moving the tensioner - didn't realize I had to use the breaker bar without a socket - there are two square holes in the tensioner pulley arm where you insert the 3/8th inch breaker bar. After that, it was easier... Also, the ones that designed the fan shroud should be tarred and feathered - it should be easy to remove it to get access to the front of the engine and the belt.

thanks for the video, how do you recognize bolt sizes so easily? do you just know what they are or just by looking at them?
@s33therfan
3 жыл бұрын
You can pretty much tell by the size , a lot of sizes are commonly used 10mm 13mm 14mm 15mm. You can get a nack for them pretty quick. Now some times they like throw some odd ball sizes like 9mm or 11mm , rarely ever use those. I appreciate the great feedback and thank you for watching.

How can I tell it’s the alternator if the truck doesn’t turn on?
@s33therfan
2 жыл бұрын
You have a few options . You could try swapping a good charged battery. You could fully charge the battery( autozone will free of charge) . If it cranks and runs after doing this then you can move on to checking the alternator. If it does not crank and start with a fully charged battery , then there is another issue. Thank you for watching.

Great instruction and attention to detail. Very easy to follow. Thanks for making this video. Do you happen to have a video for changing the spark plugs on the same vehicle?
@s33therfan
3 жыл бұрын
I do not believe I do but I know it is pretty involved with the back plugs being the hardest. As you know there are 2 plugs per cylinder one best I remember has coil on plug and other just has the wire. Thanks for watching the video.
