How to replace the fan motor in a Beko DVC61S fan oven.
My fan oven would start to heat up ok, but then tripped the cooker circuit breaker in the house fuse box. So I replaced the element and thermostat to see if it would fix the problem, but it didn't. So I disconnected the fan motor (which was working) and wrapped pvc tape over the spade connectors to avoid a short circuit, then tested the fan oven. This solved the problem of the cooker tripping the circuit breaker in the house fuse box. So I bought a replacement fan motor on eBay (UK) for £15.95 October 2021, and that fixed the problem.
HOW TO REPLACE THE MOTOR IN A FAN OVEN.
Before you start, make sure the oven is cold.
Turn off the cooker at the wall switch.
(If you're not sure you should switch off the cooker circuit breaker in the fuse box)
Pull out the cooker from the wall, so that you can access the rear panel.
Open the oven door.
Remove the shelves and anything else in the way.
Inside the fan oven, undo the screws holding the cover panel in place.
Remove the cover panel.
The fan nut has a left hand thread, so it turns clockwise to undo.
Hold the fan still and undo the fan nut.
(If the nut is rusted on and the flat edge is rounded inside the fan, grip the motor body with mole grips at the rear of the cooker whilst turning the nut. This is a 2 person job or you need to find a way of holding the mole grips in place whilst turning the nut.)
Remove the nut and fan.
Remove the Phillips screws holding on the rear panel.
Remove the rear panel.
Take a photo of the wiring on the fan motor to help when you attach the new one.
Disconnect the wires from the motor.
Undo the 3 Phillips screws holding the old motor to the oven.
Remove the old motor.
Offer up the new motor and replace the 3 screws.
Attach the wires to the new motor.
Replace the rear panel.
Replace the screws in the rear panel.
Attach the new fan inside the oven and tighten the fan nut anticlockwise.
Replace the cover panel.
Screw the cover panel in to place.
Replace the shelves.
Close the oven door.
Push the cooker back in to place.
Turn on the cooker at the wall switch. (and circuit breaker if it was turned off.)
Turn on the fan oven to test it is working.
Done.
I hope this helps.
